How My Toddler Has Changed in 1 Year: A Photo Comparison

toddler changes 300x172 How My Toddler Has Changed in 1 Year: A Photo ComparisonI wrote a post on my blog this week called, When The Kids Were Little. In that post, I talk about the importance of making the effort to be conscious of certain realities, one being that this time when our kids are little will probably be the years we reflect most fondly on in the future.

Today, I happened upon a photo taken of Evan in March of 2011. I was completely amazed at what I saw, I mean, just look at the changes!

In the photo on the left, Evan still had his soft, stringy, untouched baby hair. In fact, this is the last photo of him before he had his first haircut.

I can also see those little teeth popping out of his gums — they still have wide gaps between them in this photo.

Of course, in the photo on the right, which was taken just a few weeks ago, I can see a completely different boy. There is a new maturity and strength behind his eyes, and his features are looking more and more like the features of an adult. His thick mop of hair now requires a trim once every couple weeks.

The changes are so subtle, sometimes it is easy to forget how much our kids have changed over such short expanses of time.

Do you ever compare photos of your children and feel astounded by the changes you see?

Wow, it is amazing the changes in our kids when you compare photos like this. You have such a handsome boy! You have inspired me to do the same, maybe I’ll upload them too. I’m sure it will be amazing to see how much my 4 and 2 year old have grown in a year!

My youngest daughter is 10 months old and my oldest is nearing 3. When I look back on the pictures from when the baby was born until now I realize how much my oldest still looked like a baby herself just 10 months ago.
