Time Out Timing Craft Project

Ever wonder how long is too long, or not long enough for your toddler when it comes to a time out?
Well another Pinterest project helped me with this, because I always struggled with what is too long, what is not long enough, and it also came with a great philosophy i love.
I just have to say too, the blogger who came up with this on Here We Are Together is nothing short of genius.
So all you need is an old jar… can be any type. I used an empty pasta sauce jar that would have typically ended up in our recycling bin. Then a small tube of glitter glue, and a small tube of glitter. Of course it doesn’t need to match, but I just got blue across the board because it was on sale. Cue cheap Danielle!
You are going to take a teaspoon of glitter glue and place it in the jar.
Then fill it up with hot water.
And lastly add the glitter and shake it up!
Now, when it comes time for the actual process of using this for instituting a time out, of course if you use time outs in your home… you bring your toddler to the spot you typically have them sit for their time out, shake the jar up good… and when all the glitter has settled in the jar, they are free from their time out.
It not only gives them time to cool off, but you can also compare them calming down, to the glitter being nice an calm as well!
