STOP! Potty Time! {Baby Bjorn Training Potty Giveaway}
My three year old recently potty trained back in May… something I was starting to believe would never happen because of the long process it had become. We started about a month after he turned 2, he seemed very interested thanks to his Elmo Potty DVD and I thought we were on the road to no more diapers.
Within a week he was potty trained, and the following week he decided he has absolutely no interest in the potty at all anymore. Even if I played that damn DVD 45 times in a day!
I pushed the subject for the next six months, with fail after fail. So I stopped… completely. Didn’t bring it up, didn’t push it, and just let him go at his own pace.
His third birthday came, and went, and still no interest… so I brought the potty back out and around a little bit before I was due with my third child. Why? Because I had no interest having three… count them! One… Two… THREE in diapers!
While my middle son is in cloth, I never thought my oldest would have dragged potty training out this long. Anyway!
Bringing the potty out again was a brilliant idea, because he got interested really quickly. The emphasis of being a big brother again to a little sister this time is probably what helped us. But we again let him do it all at his own pace. If he had an accident, we didn’t freak out… But man was he excited about his various pairs of character themed undies. Cars, Toy Story, all the Disney favorites he just had to have on his butt.
I wish I had one of those magical keys, or pieces of advice for everyone… but the only thing that worked *for us* was letting him do it on his own pace, and in his own time.
In honor of my big guy potty training, and my 2 year old now starting to show interest in being just like his big brother, I am going to do a great giveaway!

and i love Baby Bjorn
kt commented on Aug 09 11 at 9:04 amI had heard once that if you pick the right day, potty training will only take 1 day. So watch your kid to try to find the right day. If you pick wrong, no sweat. Keep looking….even if it is months later!
Ladybug11780 commented on Aug 09 11 at 9:12 amI would love to win a potty. Ive heard good things about the bjorn potty and want to start training.

Renee Gawlak-Ghenciu commented on Aug 09 11 at 9:32 amMy best potty training tip is don’t sweat accidents. The anxiety makes kids not want to participate. Go at the child’s pace and allow naked time. It’s hard to get pants off and for little boys aiming down is hard with something around your ankles preventing your thighs from spreading :)
Renee Gawlak-Ghenciu commented on Aug 09 11 at 9:37 amI’d love to win for my son. He will be almost 3 when baby no.2 gets here in Sept. I’ve heard a lot about kids wanting to go back in diapers when baby arrives. I think this chair would really help with the wow factor of being a BIG brother and boy and even getting a new potty chair to show it.
Cynthia Cargill commented on Aug 09 11 at 10:18 amHaving one of Baby Bjorn limited edition golden potty chairs would be very special for me and my son. There are so many essential products that babies need and trying to purchase all of them can be costly; especially being a single mother. Good Luck to Everyone!

Having this potty chair would be a god send for us right now because my little guy is ready to potty train, but we can’t afford to buy a chair right now because my husband’s hours at work were recently reduced because of economy and we are struggling right now. My best potty training tip is to not push the issue, somtimes they are just not ready. I learned this with my almost 4 year old.
Alexis commented on Aug 09 11 at 12:16 pmI try not to push it and let her go at her own pace. We were doing well around 2 1/2 years old and all of a sudden, she stopped and wanted nothing to do with the potty. She is now 3 1/2 and refuses to look at it. I am soooo frustrated and trying not to push anything. I would love a new potty to maybe peak her interest. I have tried everything and can’t get her to go and have another one on the way-don’t want 2 in diapers! Help!

Melissa commented on Aug 09 11 at 12:19 pmMy tip is don’t pressure them, or get frustrated/angry with them when they have accidents.
Melissa commented on Aug 09 11 at 12:21 pmI’m hoping to win a potty because my daughter personalized our first one so I’m hoping to get a replacement before my son is interested.

Favorite Potty training tip: Let your child go at his/her own pace.
I also liked these great potty tips from the Sesame Street website:
Signs your child may be ready for the potty:
He/She can follow simple instructions
He/She can undress herself
He/She can give you verbal or facial cues that she needs to use the toilet
and it’s important to be patient and positive & encouraging
My lil one will be 2 yrs old soon.He is already showing interest in using the big boy potty. I think introducing a potty for his size will encourage him to try it out.
April G commented on Aug 09 11 at 12:58 pmFB name is April Gilbertson. :)
April G commented on Aug 09 11 at 1:05 pmMy best PT trip is to not put any pressure on your child. I spent a week needlessly stressing my son out by sitting him on his chair and asking him to go. As soon as I backed off he started doing it on his own.
April G commented on Aug 09 11 at 1:07 pmI would love to win this because my potty training son has twin siblings who are going to be potty training before I know i,t and I’m going to need a second chair! The one we have now is a blue Baby Bjorn and we LOVE it! Best chair out there.
Carrie commented on Aug 09 11 at 1:20 pmI don’t think I’m qualified to give a tip (does this disqualify me?) since I haven’t successfully potty trained my daughter yet, but the pediatrican said it’s not too soon to introduce her. I like the Bjorn potty because I hear it’s good for little tushies and my daughter is quite petite.
Barbara commented on Aug 09 11 at 1:55 pmI liked Babble Toddler on FB (Barbara Maier Cross).
Barbara commented on Aug 09 11 at 2:01 pmThe best potty training advice I’ve heard so far is to let the child go at their own interest level/pace. You can’t force it!! A child isn’t potty trained if Mommy has to ask about going to the potty every half hour – Mommy is trained in that case!!
Barbara commented on Aug 09 11 at 2:02 pmI would love to win one of the Baby Bjorn GOLDEN potty chairs for my almost 2 year old!! I’ve been wishy washy about what kind of potty to buy, and winning one eliminates me needing to pick one!!! And, it’s really golden? That’s got to have some kind of allure for everyone, right?

Erick crystak gonzalez commented on Aug 11 11 at 6:40 pmMy first child just turned one and his grandparents are pressuring to start potty training. I have no idea how to even begin the process since he just got walking down. I would like to start potty training but Im not sure if he is ready. When do you know when your child is ready for the potty?
Gillian commented on Aug 11 11 at 6:49 pmPut a potty in the bathroom several months before you want to actually start the potty training. Let him/her get comfortable with it, sit on it, play with it, etc. Then when you’re really ready to start, they’re already familiar with the potty chair!
Mimi Miller commented on Aug 11 11 at 6:59 pmWe’ve been open about going to the potty since day one. She’s free to watch me go potty myself. So, when it was time to start, I got her own little princess one. And I sing (from the Real Housewives of ATL) “don’t be tardy for the potty”.

Cara Otten commented on Aug 12 11 at 2:48 pmMy daughter is 16 months old and has recently started pulling at her diaper and telling me when she has gone poopy, so I think potty training is in the near future.
My tips that I’m going to try:
- don’t push it on her, she will go on the potty when she is ready
-if she wants I will sit on the big potty and she can sit on her little potty and we can go together ( she is just like me, copies everything I say, wants to do everything mommy is doing)
-saw the cutest Hallmark Disney Princess potty sticker chart at Kroger the other day, had to get it. You put princess stickers on the chart after you: get undressed, go potty, flush potty, wash hands. My daughter already loves stickers and princesses. Has a cute certificate to fill out after she is potty trained.
-also got the book A Potty for Me by Karen Katz to read while she is on the potty. This is on of her favorite authors.

My son got one for trying to go on the potty and two if he actually went. I thought he would want M&M’s everytime he went potty after he was pottytrained but he totally forgot about it after a few months.
