Beach is Best for Toddler Sand and Water Play!

FollyBeach JV 01 300x224 Beach is Best for Toddler Sand and Water Play! Our family lives in the mountains, and while we love it here, we make an annual pilgrimage to the beach. We’ve just returned from seven lovely days of playing in the sand and the sea. My five year old has long been in love with the beach, but this is the first year that our toddler has been old enough to really appreciate it. Last year she was just a babe in arms. But this year? This year she was very much in love with it all. The sand, the water, the wind, the shells, the sea creatures. To her it was all both completely new and a wonderful sensory extravaganza.

Here are some photos of this new love affair.

I think she is on her way to loving it every bit as much as her big sister (which is a lot!). Perhaps we ought to consider making the trek a bit more often…

Do you have any favorite beach-themed crafts? We brought our shells back from the beach and have plans to do some sandcasting in our backyard sandbox this week.
