Playopedia and Pinterest: Two Places to Find Fun Toddler Activities for Your Family
I recently discovered a site that’s all about kid play ideas. Playopedia! This new collection of children’s activities comes from all over the web and is curated by Australian blogger Christie Burnett of Childhood 101. Playopedia focuses on ideas for young children with a section just on toddler activities. Among the ideas included are the toddler-friendly version of twister, pictured here, 10 ways to play with water, and edible finger paint.
I especially like how each activity is represented by a photo thumbnail to show me exactly what I’m getting as I click through. Because as they say, a photo really is worth a thousand words!
This is one of the reasons that I’m rapidly falling in love with Pinterest as well. The photos on this social bookmarking site are eye candy for a visual person like me. I could happily wander through all the images and links on Pinterest for days! But, you can also approach it with a “shopping list” and go straight for specific items. You can search for toddler activities, for example, and come up with a list like this.
So next time I’m seeking play ideas or other activities for my daughters, you’ll probably find me looking around on Playopedia and Pinterest.
