Built-ins
What a great room where kids can read and create. I love the giant bean bag chair positioned perfectly for kicking back and enjoying a book. Someone will have to ask mom and dad for helping reaching the top shelf — the perfect opportunity for some parent-child reading time!

We used the Ikea picture ledges to create ours and I love them! I can’t wait until we get a bunch more books at my next baby shower so we can fill them up!

what a great idea! I was wondering about what others do for their books! I love looking at all of my childrens books and having them displayed!

I loved these, but I would be concerned about some of them being so high up that a kid could get hurt trying to get to those books. I absolutely LOVE the little reading nooks with low shelves. ADORABLE!

I would never use these one is the fact a child would try to climb them. Next what would you do with them when the child doesn’t want 10 books on a shelf. You want as many as possible. this would be a big waist of space. You could never use these shelve for much else so when they don’t want the books this way or want something else lining the wall you would have to trash them. thanks but no thanks

They’re cute and all, but totally impractical for even my modest home. Most of those shelf systems would barely hold just the books we check out from the library every 1-2 weeks, much less all of the other books we have acquired. And let’s face it, if your kid can’t reach a book, that just defeats the purpose and if we have to put some of his books in storage, that just defeats the purpose too. We have one slender bookcase that my son can reach all the shelves of, a basket for smaller books and a night stand with a generous top, empty of everything but a couple piles of well loved library books. And that’s just the way my son likes it, that way he can still pick through all his books, and that is exactly what he does.

Can’t wait to put this up in my son’s room! He loves books, and what a fabulous way to display them unlike a bulky book shelf. Not sure how high I will put them up the wall, but another reason I married a super tall guy! Love, Love LOVE this idea!
