There’s no better harbinger of the holiday season than that one house in the neighborhood that’s so into the Christmas spirit, you can spot it from a mile away. Seriously: these are the houses you can point out from Google Earth’s SantaCam, or whatever — they’re here, they’re cheerful, and they’re making everyone who passes by ooh and ahh over their electric bills. Across America, you can plan your own Tacky Light Tour to bask in the literal glow of hundreds of icicle lights, inflatables, plastic snowmen and more. I like the Amazing Technicolor House and Peace on Earth. The others are just so… …tacky. They look quickly thrown together. When done up nicely, houses can look magnificient covered in lights. But going big isn’t always what’s best.

We have a house just down the street from us that usually has so many lights that he lights up, every thing but it looks so beautiful. I am looking forward to seeing his lights this year!

Some houses thou it looks like junk when they throw it all together. Others it looks like they put in a lot of time.

I love the classics. Candle lit in each window with plain white lights and a classic simple homemade reef BUT I also can’t seem to get enough tacky lights! I love them! These houses are for the most part awesome. Some look to sloppy and thrown together. However, I get where a neighbor might find it annoying. I know one neighborhood in Hampton VA where people are ALWAYS out every night to see lit up homes! Most do there homes like in the above photos but some do not. I’m sure Christmas time gets old fast for them!
