Luci commented on Nov 20 11 at 11:04 pmOur 5′ wooden ladder with all the paint dribble from the years of use has been wonderful Christmas “tree” decked with garlands of old, the Christmas Angel on the top step and our Village houses on the steps below. It’s a great place to store Christmas gifts as they are wrapped. After gifts have been delivered to our dear ones, a tray with Christmas goodies for guests that stop by is handy too. Festive, minimal cleanup and no fire dangers,
Merry Christmas to all!

Another great alternative tree for 2011 is a Festive Tree. These are wooden trees that are larger than traditional table top trees, but more dramatic. They don’t sell them in stores but you can find them online: http://www.festivetree.com
Small potted evergreens are also a nice option if you want a live tree, but nothing big. Metal trees are also quite cool!

From this post I like the “light tree” idea, but the link is taking me to a website in UK and not to a tutorial. Please help!!
jentatertots commented on Nov 21 11 at 11:26 pmHi Gianna!
That Light Tree didn’t have a tutorial attached to it. I just thought it was a cool idea. I am sure you could make one with a string of lights and metal stake in the ground. Or, a metal tomato cage would also give you the same look by running lights around the outside.
Thanks for your comment!
