24 Painted Floors to Inspire
If you are like me, you remember when Kristin Kauffman’s painted floor that was featured in Better Homes + Garden started
making the rounds on the interwebs. Ever since I’ve thought almost daily of painting on of the floors in our house. What about you? would you paint a floor?
If so, or if not, I’ve rounded up my favorite painted floors. Do you have a favorite?

jennifer gray commented on Sep 09 11 at 10:10 amI love a washed out checkerboard pattern on wood, but my husband is fundamentally opposed to painting wood. He’d rather refinish, so I don’t think I’ll ever get my way:(
mama commented on Sep 09 11 at 11:11 amI am so excited! I have been saving up to redo my kitchen and take up that nasty linoleum, but until I do… I’m just going to paint !!! And if it looks like ass it’s still better than what I have now and who knows! If it ends up looking as good as one of these floors then look at what I saved!! Thanks for the idea!
Rhonda commented on Sep 09 11 at 3:50 pmI have seen a lot of painted concrete floors when I still lived in Florida…but never in Oklahoma and my husband thinks I’m nuts because I told him that is what I wanted. I’m saving this to show him how awesome it can be. :)
babs commented on Sep 20 11 at 3:53 pmI would never paint an interior wood floor. You’d generally ruin property values and buyer interest in doing that. And, it turns a beautiful floor into a cheap crayon fest. Why not just buy a rug? I suppose if you have a trashy old floor, paint couldn’t hurt.. but with nice solid wood floors, it’s ghetto.
Patio floors are another story. Those can be fun, while still not making a house look cheap.
