Judy commented on Mar 05 12 at 10:27 pmI see so many projects using paint chips. I just think this is stealing, unless you just collect the chips you legitimately take home, but that would take forever to get enough for a project. This has got to cost paint companies a lot of money. I just hope some people will think twice before they use these, Please jut buy some colored paper. I hope my post doesn’t get deleted.

Heather commented on May 23 12 at 11:58 amI have found if you ask they will let you have them. It’s that simple, just let them know what and why you need them, & always leave some.
Don’t take the whole stack because it takes up to a week to replace them. Most paint stores will give you a huge box of their chips they don’t need anymore. My local store lets people come get their discontinued items the first week of the month. I’ve been able to get the wallpaper books, tile samples, and of course paint chips. They know I’ll be in every other month to pick up some things so the manager puts back items he things I’ll be interested in.
Even my local fabric store keeps all the swatches for me, from small to large.
In short if you talk to the stores and let them know you want their items they are happy to let you take them, & even more so now days to help in recycling..
