Yes, I said cleaning your toothbrush.

It might seem a little excessive, but if your toothbrush falls on the floor, get hands all over it, or if you’re a germaphobe like me, then this is a great tip!

Simply place them in the dishwasher.

It works like a charm.

Quick, easy, no fuss. And you’ve saved yourself from buying more toothbrushes for the kids who keep dropping them on the floor one too many times. I know, might be extreme, but you can stay germ-free while saving a little cash!

Are you a germaphobe? Ready to admit it? Try this tip, you’ll be happy you did!

Hi Marie,

Great idea!

I admit I LOVE putting stuff in the dishwasher! I’ll sometimes do a load of household goods that I want to get sterilized, or at least that I want to avoid scrubbing.

It’s so satisfying to get a machine to do some of the dirty work.

p.s. We rotate our kitchen sponges through the dishwasher too.

Great tip! I put everything in the dishwasher…..shoes, hats etc. My poor dishwasher!

This is silly. Does running a dishwasher cost nothing? And sponges, like toothbrushes, are made to be thrown away because they wear out.

I am 100% sure you wrote this for me as I am sure the entire planet heard me lecturing my children today in how the toothbrushes go IN the holder not on the edge of the sink where they end up on the floor the next time someone washes their hands. You can bet I’ll be doing this tomorrow!!! THANK YOU!!!! Oh and my back thanks you as well.

Whenever our kids have been sick, or just every couple of weeks or so, I boil a pot of water and put the toothbrushes in. The dishwasher thing kind of grosses me out. I don’t think of my dishwasher being the cleanest thing to but my toothbrush in.
