There are big appetites, and then there are your children served up as an appetizer.
It looks as if a lioness at the Cheyenne Mountain Zoo had her way, she might have tried a 1-year-old boy named Trent as her afternoon hors d’oeuvres.
To be fair, he does look quite delicious.

American kids are often over scheduled, pushed on by parents driven by a fear that they won’t be able to succeed in today’s competitive world.
But all those after school dance classes and music lessons have nothing on what this three-year-old Chinese girl has to put up with. Watch as the brave little tot walks a tightrope over a den of hungry tigers … and then falls:
I have a really hard time with zoos–specifically, with the fact that they exist.
I realize logically that many zoos treat animals like royalty; that many also help protect endangered species; and that we simply no longer inhabit an ecology system in which all animals can roam free, unfettered by human activities. This video is so adorable MY ovaries hurt (impressive for a male). Yun Zi, which means “Son of Cloud” took his first walk outside his home at the San Diego Zoo. This video is so cute it’s like adorable porn. (okay, that sounds weird.) Nonetheless, get you some baby panda!
A three-year-old got much cozier with wildlife than his parents intended at an Oklahoma zoo recently. The boy was watching the swans with his sister when he wandered off, walked under a rope barrier and over a low retaining wall, and approached the cage of a lynx named Freya. Continue reading »

Tarra has left her acting days behind her for the solitude of The Elephant Sanctuary in Tennessee, but she was back in the spotlight this year as the amazing elephant with a dog for a best friend.
