“Annie” Hopefuls Audition Online – Your Kid Could Be The Next Annie!
It used to be that if you wanted to be a Broadway star, you had to get yourself to Broadway first. Now, especially for young actors, Broadway’s talent scouts and casting directors are increasingly coming to you.
The new production of Annie is holding an online casting call. Hundreds of kids have auditioned via videotape, submitting performances recorded in their living rooms far from the glitz of New York.
Online casting searches are a relatively new thing. Even when they’re not formally collecting audition tapes, though, casting directors are increasingly relying on the Internet to help them find new talent. That’s right, your homemade YouTube clips really might be sitting on a talent scout’s laptop right now.
He Should Have Put a Ring On It: Boy Cries Because He Doesn’t Want to Marry Girl [VIDEO]
It’s not unusual to hear about men dragging their feet to the altar. But this might be the first documented case of a little boy kicking and screaming his way out of an engagement — about 13 or so years before he can legally marry.
Two elementary school-age kids have gone viral thanks to a YouTube video of them having a screaming match about getting married. She’s all for it. He’s not. In fact, he’s so against the partnership that he kicks, screams and cries while she calmly insists they will wed.
While the little boy might have some commitment issues, at least he’ll never be accused of leading her on.

Kids’ First Kiss Goes Viral: Too Cute Or Too Much? [VIDEO]
Do you remember your first kiss? I do. I was eleven. I planted one on the lips of my “boyfriend”. On a dare. It was harmless.
5-year-old Elliot and his friend, 6-year-old Bowie, will remember their first kiss forever because it’s already logged more than five million views on YouTube since it was uploaded five days ago.
The video was uploaded by Elliot’s mother with this description:
Do you remember how you felt when you had your first kiss? This was captured by accident, in its most innocent form. If only it could be this way every time… Meet Elliott and Bowie.
***(they are NOT related. She is literally the “girl next door”. Love is her middle name. His shirt is a coincidence)***
Teen sensation Justin Bieber saw the video and tweeted it to his more than nine million followers saying “This kid has game.”
Others agree, leaving comments on the YouTube video like “cutest thing ever” or “too adorable” … But if you scroll through the nearly 42,000 comments others disapprove saying things like “Too much, too soon, too young” or “this is just WRONG! kids should play games and go to school, if they start with kisses in this age soon they will have to make difficult decisions like what to do when she become pregnant at age 12! that’s what her mom wants?”
I agree with the folks who say it’s adorable. What about you? What do you think? Too cute or too much too soon?

When Christmas Giving Begets Tears and Tantrums
Christmas is kind of a beast. There’s all the planning and prep-work, the hiding unwrapped gifts and careful talk around Santa believers. But the pay-off is huge: another year wrapped in that cozy season of warm wishes, sentimental reminiscing, cheesy music you actually seek out, and, cutting to the chase here, presents! Who doesn’t like presents?
Ahhh, the presents. So fun to give, so fun to get and yet, fraught. Especially, when it comes to kids. Sometimes Santa doesn’t quite hit his mark and pre-tactful little ones are ready to let someone have it. John’s got a video of a doozy of a Christmas disappointment scene, but maybe you’ve seen something similar live.

Christmas Presents: What Happens When Your Kids Hate Them? [Video]
My mother is many things. Sweet, wise, beautiful, funny and kind are among them. But excellent-gift-giver (especially when it comes to little kids)? Not so much. See, she’s one of those intellectual types who, during the course of the past three decades, has traveled all over the world, picking up an assortment of (extremely) random tidbits along the way. She’s stockpiled said tidbits and consults turns to them whenever a situation calls for a gift.
This just in…tomorrow’s Christmas, a situation which calls for a gift.
Up on The Housetop Part of Yuletide Google Doodle
Can you imagine a team of five people spending over 250 hours on a holiday card? Just think how many people you’d have to send that card to in order to justify such an effort, not that you’d ever pony up that kind of labor just to spread holiday cheer.
But Google would. And did. Today, the search engine unveiled its brand new doodle, a holiday card of sorts—one for the entire world to enjoy. All you have to do to receive yours is click on over. And if you do, you won’t be sorry.
Katherine Rosman of the Wall Street Journal reports that Michael Lopez is in charge of Google’s doodles and as such was the point person on the enterprising project. Rosman writes: “For Google, the goal is to burnish its brand image and engage the legions of people who conduct more than a billion searches a day, without offending any of them.” This is undoubtedly the reason why there are so many images, 17 in all, which depict scenes from around the world ranging from St. Basil’s cathedral to a canal in Venice. When you click on a particular image, it automatically conducts a correlating search. Continue reading »
Mom Defends Tween YouTube Star, Despite Death Threats
This weekend, an 11-year-old Florida girl who became an overnight YouTube sensation — for all the wrong reasons — was taken into protective custody after she received death threats. In an interview with Momlogic, the mother of Jessica Leonhardt (aka: Jessi Slaughter) defended her daughter and the videos (which she admits she hasn’t seen).
The case, nicely explained by Maralee at Famecrawler, is sad and cringe-inducing and kind of astounding. Sure, an 11-year-old uploading (NSFW) videos of herself swearing a bluestreak isn’t all that shocking these days. But the parents’ reaction? Continue reading »
