I’m a sucker for precocious kids. And when they can back up their air of awesomeness with some kind of talent, I – for one – am totally smitten and delighted.
One place where these gifted kids get to showcase their skills is on the ‘Fill-in-blank’s’ Got Talent. The franchise is everywhere, all over the globe looking for anyone and everyone of any age to take the stage and show off. And of course kids are always a hit. This is usually how hide and seek goes in my house, as my kid likes to hide in the same place (in the bed) everytime. Actually, it’s not really Hide and Seek at all but me pretending to seek, then pretending to get tired and taking a nap on the bed (aka my daughter) while the bed giggles and I continually tell the bed to hush up.
Anywho, these kids have mastered speed Hide and Seek. The Key? No furniture.

This week the TV incarnation of the long running PBS show Reading Rainbow came to a close. The on- air ode to books was slammed shut. A Buzzfeed member complied a great list of the 11 Best Reading Rainbow tribute covers. It’s a song that despite how much it annoys me will get stuck in my head for hours…so this is like my worst nightmare. But it’s pretty cool that so many people possess such a great love for the show and it’s ultra catchy theme song. The collection includes – along with the original – a emo, punk and even host LeVar Burton doing a rendition. Check out some of the stellar versions here:
I wonder if Harrison Ford gets a wicked case of déjà vu when filming his blockbusters. A common theme in his roles? Desperation. An eagle eyed YouTuber compiled a compilation of clips from Ford’s film splicing together tidbits of his quests, searches, and heartfelt yearning for his wife and family. And then there’s Damon Weaver. The Florida sixth grader has interviewed Dwayne Wade, interviewed Vice President Joe Biden, covered the inauguration, and finally, after a long time trying, he scored an interview with President Barack Obama earlier this month.
