Sitting around doing math
Vi Hart is becoming a math superstar.
She’s not (yet) headlining at math conferences, though she’s been attending them since she was 13 and given talks at a few. She doodled her way through math class (and has video to prove it). She doesn’t even have a degree in the subject (music is her thing). She thought about pursuing a graduate degree in math, but worried about all the undergraduate courses she’d need to take before she could even apply. She never took a math course in college (!).

A viral video of a school girl giving impromptu birth on a football field has been ripped off of You Tube for it’s shocking content. In the video, school kids flip out as a young woman pops a baby out on the 50 yard line, with graphic detail.
This video is so adorable MY ovaries hurt (impressive for a male). Yun Zi, which means “Son of Cloud” took his first walk outside his home at the San Diego Zoo. This video is so cute it’s like adorable porn. (okay, that sounds weird.) Nonetheless, get you some baby panda!
33-year-old Tanya Nareau of Mesa, Arizona was arrested on Tuesday for allegedly attempting to exchange her 2-year-old daughter for a gun. The trade was to be with a family friend who Nareau said would do a better job of raising the child.
An incredible video making it’s way around shows an elephant giving birth at Indonesia’s Elephant Safari Park in Taro, Bali. The birth itself is, perhaps, NSFW — and also probably not safe for lunch — but that’s just the first couple of minutes.
The rest of the 6-minute video shows the mother — and experienced birther — getting panicky that her calf isn’t breathing. Watch her wrap her trunk around the calf’s trunk and try to shake some life into the lifeless body. Incredible. Continue reading »
Sometimes we learn more about ourselves through the lens of another culture. For instance, who knew that Bert is a razor-toothed, screaming, jaundiced man with a giant flap of skin dangling horrifyingly from his neck. And who knew Ernie was such a perv. The Japanese knew, that’s who.
