Utah is a unique place: home to the desert, the Mormons and, apparently, a lawyer who facilitates the sale of infants. It’s a convoluted story, but the crux of it is that Alison and Gary Stuckey have three children in foster care with a Mesa, Arizona couple. The Arizona couple is in the process of adopting the children since the Stuckey’s parental rights have been taken away. Pretty easy to follow so far. The problem is, Alison is pregnant again, and the foster couple alleges that the Stuckeys are trying to sell the baby in Alison’s womb.
According to Tarilee Roth, a representative of A Act of Love [sic] adoption agency, the Stuckeys are in Utah to make arrangements for their unborn child to be adopted. Seems legit, right? Except for the fact that since “the Stuckeys’ parental rights over three other children have been terminated, the newborn must be taken into state custody after it is born.” Well, and that it seems the Stuckeys have sold a child in the past. Remember that Utah bill that could have made miscarriage a criminal act? The sponsor of the bill, Utah State Representative Carl D. Wimmer, has withdrawn it.
According to the New York Times report, he said he stripped it of a clause that would have allowed a woman to be prosecuted under the state’s criminal code for “reckless acts” that led to the death of her fetus. The bill set off a raging controversy among pro-choice groups because as written, it could have meant a woman would serve life in prison if she had an unintentional miscarriage that prosecutors believed she caused and she was convicted of the charges. The plane lost power just after take-off, said a witness, and it seemed to hang for a second in the sky. But when it plummeted into a St. John’s, Arizona neighborhood on August 16, 2008, it took Stephanie Nielson, her husband Christian, and pilot Doug Kinneard with it.
Kinneard was killed in the crash. Stephanie and Christian, a young couple with four small children, survived with severe burn injuries — in Stephanie’s case over 83 percent of her body. They’ve spent the last year and a half recovering, rehabilitating, and learning how to live with their new normal.
A popular YouTube video shows a young man in a car at a McDonald’s drive-through. When the McDonald’s employee asks for his order, the guy and an unseen friend start rapping, “I need a double cheese burger and hold the lettuce. Don’t be frontin’ son — no seeds on the bun.” It’s not the funniest thing you’ll see on YouTube, but it’s amusing and the McDonald’s employees have a sense of humor about it.
It isn’t clear in what city this rapping McDonald’s video took place, but it probably wasn’t American Fork, Utah. At a McDonald’s there, four teens tried get hip-hop with their order at the Mickey D’s drive-through and not only did they not get a laugh, they got in trouble. Continue reading »
A teenager who couldn’t get an abortion at seven months because her state bans late-term abortions has been accused of hiring someone to beat her up – in hopes it would terminate the pregnancy.

A seven-year-old boy shook up a small town in Utah when he led police on a car chase last Sunday morning. After receiving reports of a reckless driver, police quickly located the erratic vehicle, but had to follow it for 10 blocks before they confirmed the identity of the pint-sized driver. The boy was gone and home before his parents even knew he was missing.
When questioned by authorities on why he had stolen the family car, the boy said that he didn’t want to go to church because it was too hot.
According to this video, the boy was not a bad driver for someone whose feet don’t reach the pedals. He drove at up to 45 miles an hour, and, though he swerved a bit and had zero respect for stop signs, he ended up home safe and sound. Upon parking the car outside his house, he jumped out of the car and sprinted inside as fast as he could, like any common criminal.
But unlike your average car thief, the boy got off scot free because of his tender age, with authorities saying only they hope that his parents keep a closer eye on him in the future.
