The “Sex and the City 2″ reviews are coming in and they’re not nearly as hot as the dessert where the film is set.
“The first Sex and the City got a free pass from loyal viewers of the television series. This one will try their patience,” wrote the film critic at London’s Telegraph.
The New York Daily News compares the movie to champagne that’s gone flat. ”Though the sequel is a welcome return of the four women we know and love, it’s tough not to acknowledge that if we were all friends in real life, at this point we’d probably stop taking their calls,” writes the critic, who gave the movie just two stars.

She was just a kid when we first saw her, and now Drew Barrymore is a mom of sorts – she sent her first baby out onto DVD last week. Whip It is Barrymore’s first film as a director, a coming of age tale that’s tailor made for opening doors between teens and their parents.

It seems appropriate that Ice Age: Dawn of Dinosaurs would hit DVD now. The weather, is after all, turning cold in much of the U.S.; so who wouldn’t want to cuddle on the couch with the kids to catch a flick about animals escaping their cold climes for some place warmer?
You’ll have to suspend your taste for scientific fact to enjoy the trip with Manny, Ellie, Diego and Sid underneath their icy home to an alternate (and warm) land where dinosaurs roam. But for kids who aren’t hardcore dinosaur fans (and hence caught up in the fact-based study of when they existed and what caused them to go extinct), it’s a laugh-a-minute action-packed ninety minutes.
