Remember Donna Simpson, the “Fattest Mom in America”? At 520 pounds, she held the record for heaviest woman to give birth after the birth of her daughter. And now she’s trying to reach 1,000 pounds. On purpose. Not everyone thinks this is a good idea, however. At least one doctor is not only speaking out against Simpson’s goal but is also putting up the money to get her to stop.
A court has ruled three police officers innocent of using excessive force after they Tasered a visibly pregnant woman pulled over for a speeding ticket.

UPDATE: School officials say they won’t comment on the story until they meet with an attorney. Jeez, not so much as a “this is regrettable” or “more could have been done.” Teachers watched the abuse Prince received the day she took her life, and yet no mea culpa from the school. Arguably, bullying is a part of life for some kids. Tough as it is, no one expects a kid to die from bullying.
But that’s just what happened at a Massachusetts school.
In January, Phoebe Prince, 15, hung herself from a stairwell in her family home. A prosecutor claims the taunting and physical threats from nine teenagers pushed the young girl to take her own life. Another boy, 11, took his life in nearby Springfield last year after also facing fierce bullying. Continue reading »

The old saying, “we’ll just be happy if the baby has ten fingers and ten toes” isn’t really about fingers and toes. It’s just a bland statement about wanting a healthy baby and caring about nothing else. But what does finger and toe count have to do with general health anyhow?

Actually, because James Harrison has been donating his special blood for over 56 years, many of those babies have grown up to have children and even become grandparents. So the real number of lives Harrison is responsible for is exponentially higher.
