OctoMom 2? Woman on 12th Kid with IVF
An Australian woman who just gave birth to her eleventh and twelfth children - most with the help of fertility treatments - may be on track to become the next OctoMom.
Nadya Suleman made headlines first for having eight babies at once, but the outrage was over the six kids she ALREADY had at home. And much of that swirled around the doctors who allowed it happen.
So what’s the story with Dale Chalk? Continue reading »

Quads Are Four Times the Fun (VIDEO)
Having quadruplets means that you’ve got:
- four diapers to change
- four mouths to feed
- four outfits to rip off after babies spit up all over them
- four sets of eyes that you will and beg to close every afternoon at nap time.
It also means four times the giggles, as these happy quads are happy to show us. Video after the jump. It’ll make your day … promise. Continue reading »

One Kindergarten, Two Sets of Multiples
Having two or more students with the same name can be confusing (Emma A., Emma B., and Emma C., for instance). Teaching twins can be a challenge. I once taught two sets of twins at once. But a Colorado Springs kindergarten teacher is looking at an especially unique opportunity this fall — nine of her students come from two different families, one set of quadruplets and one set of quints.

UPDATE: 12 Fetus Claim a Hoax
If you smelled a rat in the claims that a woman living in Tunisia was dead set on carrying twelve fetuses to term, drink up the rest of that half empty glass.

Tunisia Woman Says She’s Carrying 12 Babies
Still shocked over OctoMom? A woman in Tunisia says she’s got twelve fetuses cooking inside her belly, and she’s keeping them ALL.
Not yet identified, the woman is apparently a teacher with a history of miscarriage. She and her husband sought fertility treatments thinking at first that they might have twins. Then came the doctor’s news - six female fetuses and six male. Continue reading »

Twins Born 10 Seconds Apart
Twins Sophie and Nicole Down have matching everything: matching faces, matching outfits — even matching birth weights (5 lbs. 11 oz.).
But what’s a first in sameness for British doctors is their time of birth — it, too, is exactly the same: 4:31 p.m.
The girls were born only 10 seconds apart.
When I first read the headlines, I had visions of that ping-pong ball scene in (NSFW!) Priscilla, Queen of the Desert. Pow! Pow! The babies are here! Continue reading »

The Duggars are Praying for Jon and Kate
If there’s one thing Jim Bob and Michelle Duggar are doing right (besides, um, practicing), it’s keeping their marriage from imploding in front of the cameras.
No matter what you think of how many kids they have or how they’re raising them (no kissing before your wedding, really?), the baby-making Duggars deserve some props for keeping the love real. They spoke out on what Jon and Kate Plus Eight need to do to set things straight.
No surprise here, but mama Duggar thinks Kate needs to settle down now Continue reading »
