America’s favorite scary 50s mom always has something to say and the good folks over at
As I’ve always said, the best way to reach kids is by framing the lesson through the malaise of post war America.
It’s been a mad, mad, mad week. So let’s continue with a little more Mad Men love, shall we?
I’m starting to think Mad Men was created to take the pressure off today’s parent. Lined up against smoking, drinking Betty Draper, who allows her elementary schooler to take driving lessons with her crazy grandpa and pretends away her kids’ feelings, we are all up for mother of the year.
You’ve heard the argument from pro-TV parents (guilty): “what they’re seeing on [insert name of program here] is no more violent than what they’d see on the news.”
Since news broke that Sesame Street is indeed planning a spoof of Mad Men, the Web has been abuzz with attempts to cast the show. But let’s face it: who knows the Sesame Street cast better than a bunch of parenting writers?
