Six-year-old Aaron Wright comes to the rescue after his mom's car crashes.
They were just driving down the road when mom Delores Dober accidentally drifted into the oncoming lane. She swerved to avoid a truck, and her car skidded off the road. When it finally came to a stop at the bottom of a snowy embankment, the car was upside down and Delores was hanging from her seatbelt, going in and out of consciousness.
Who should come to the rescue? Her 6-year-old son Aaron Wright, who was sitting in the back seat. Aaron got hold of his mother’s cell phone, scrambled out of the car, and called 911, according to a sheriff in Albany, NY.
Antonio Diaz Chacon
Stranger abductions are incredibly rare, but they do happen.
Antonio Diaz Chacon witnessed one the other day, when he saw a man throw a little girl into the back of a van and speed off. So he did the right thing. While his wife called 911, he leapt into his truck and gave chase.
Diaz Chacon pursued the kidnapper until he crashed his van into a pole and fled into the desert, giving Diaz Chacon a chance to rescue the frightened child.

Talk about the right place at the right time.
North Carolina firefighter, Eric Stewart went to his son’s elementary school to eat lunch. That’s when one of his son’s classmates, 9-year-old fourth grader Darrell Cates, started choking on a chicken nugget.
“I popped the chicken nugget in my mouth. The next thing I know, I couldn’t breathe,” Cates said. “I was like, ‘Lord, get someone over here. I don’t want to choke to death.” Continue reading »
Remember Will Phillips, the ten-year-old boy from West Fork, Arkansas who decided that he was not going to recite the Pledge of Allegiance until the phrase “with liberty and justice for all” was accurate — that is, until everyone was able to marry the person they love? Young Will was, of course, referring to the issue of marriage equality — more specifically, the lack of marriage equality in this country. Will’s protest garnered international attention after he got in trouble for talking back to a substitute teacher about it — after four days of the teacher trying to force him to stand and recite the pledge, he told her “Ma’am, with all due respect, you can go jump off a bridge.”
It had to be a horrific site, one of those moments that seems to happen in slow-motion:
Nick Harris, 32, was driving his daughter to school when he saw a Mercury sedan back up out of a driveway and run over a six-year-old girl.
An eagle-eyed teen spotted a car at the bottom of an embankment from the window of his school bus last Friday in Sullivan Country, NY. He alerted his mom after the bus dropped him off, she checked it out and a life was saved.
For many families, it’s a nightmare situation – a fire in their home, their kids in danger. For one Chicago-area family, there’s a silver lining.
Eleven-year-old Adonis Bell was hailed in the Chicago Sun Times as a hero for saving six of his family members from a fire that tore through their house. When the mayor of Riverdale, Ill. saw the story, he decided he’d give the family a house.
