Public Pressure Pushes Dad to Give Up Human Breast Milk Diet
Curtis has weaned.
After a storm of criticism last week, the California father who decided to work his way through a freezer full of breast milk ended his stunt and, along with his wife, took down their blog “Don’t Have a Cow, Man.” Instead of seeing how long the 6’4″ and 185-pound “Curtis” could survive on the excess breast milk, he and his wife, who went by the pseudonym “Katie,” found a different way to use up the stuff. Fully Grown Adult Goes on All Breast Milk Diet … for Some Reason
Folks, this is Curtis.
Curtis is a grown man, 6’4″ and 185 pounds to be exact. He has three children and some digestive issues, which is relevant. Sit tight.
This is also Curtis’s wife, Katie, a doula, childbirth educator, lactation educator and prolific, prolific milk producer.

Dads More Influential Than Moms in Child Obesity
Who makes the mealtime decisions in your house? According to new research, moms are on average more strict about food, while dads tend to be the more influential wild card. Whether they take food seriously, or throw in for Big Macs and other fun time treats, is what sets the nutritional tone in the house.
A study in The Journal of Nutrition Education and Behavior tells us that dads play a bigger role than moms when it comes to how often their kids eat at fast food restaurants — which is then linked to more weight gain in those children.

Dr. Oz Shares 6 Factors Which Impact Life Expectancy
Yesterday, Dr. Oz was kind enough to share six factors on his show which impact life expectancy. Two things immediately came to mind. First, I can’t believe I missed the chance to go by the moniker “Dr. Oz”. And second, as a parent, the thing I want most for my children is for them to live a long, happy life.
So maybe if I were in on these six influential factors, I can figure out a way to make my kids hip to them. I mean, I’m already telling them what they’re gonna have for dinner (spoiler alert, nutrition is obviously one of them), as well as what time to go to bed, right? So, why don’t I just tell them the six factors which will make them live long and healthy? Or at least show them these factors.
That’s a good place to start, but before I do that, I suppose I have to know what they are, first.
Do Kids Make You Fat?
Moms of young kids weigh more than childless women, says a new study in the journal Pediatrics. Perhaps you’ve noticed this yourself in your own anecdotal studies on the playground? It’s not earth-shattering news. What is new here are some theories about what might be causing these weight differences between mothers and childless women. When we talk about mothers’ bodies, it’s often about how hard it is to lose the leftover baby weight. But it turns out those lingering pregnancy pounds may not be the only factor. According to this study, mothers of young children consume over 300 calories a day more than their peers who don’t have kids, and more empty ones. They’re also less likely to exercise regularly. This last part was true for both mothers and fathers.
