Parents of teens worry — and in some cases, expect — that their kids will find themselves in trouble at some point. But few parents worry their kids will turn bank robber before their 18th birthday.
A 17-year-old girl strolled into a bank on Paris’s Left Bank. Reportedly blonde, “beautiful,” and charming, she apparently sweet talked the guards into letting her into a secure area of the bank. Then she surprised everyone by pulling out a gun.
While everyone else was sleeping in her Bronx apartment, eight-year-old Destiny Antonio somehow managed to fall out of her seven story window and land — luckily — on a 10-foot patch of grass.
Though it was 1:30 in the morning, someone heard her fall; a neighbor, Luis Guzman was outside talking with friends. “It sounded like you threw something very heavy,” he told the Daily News. “When we looked, it was a little girl right there.”
Until Destiny woke up, no one could figure out how she fell.
Currently in Texas, there are about 4,000 people on the permanent sex offender registry for crimes they committed as juveniles–in some cases, when they were as young as 10 years-old. The case of a 12-year-old Texan girl who was recently arrested for sexual assault has raised the question of whether it’s ethical to register juveniles as sex offenders. Continue reading »
