Two Mormons running for president.
Another Mormon has entered the race to be President of the United States. First, former governor of Massachusetts, Mitt Romney, and now, former Utah governor Jon Huntsman have announced they are kicking off campaigns.
Mormons are a hot topic lately, what with the popular show Sister Wives on TLC and the satirical Broadway show, The Book of Mormon cleaning up this past weekend when winning nine Tony awards, and now campaigns by two Mormons to be president of the United States getting underway.
In the interest of full disclosure, I was born and raised Mormon but officially discontinued my membership when they backed Proposition 8, which bans gay marriage in California. I had stopped believing in the church long before then. However, there are numerous things about the religion that I still think are good, their high regard for families being number one.
