Introducing a newborn to The Dog Of The House (yes, all caps) is a tricky business, at best. Try introducing a newborn baby to two frisky Labrador Retrievers used to running the show.
Yikes!
A new video of an introduction between baby and dog is making the internet rounds. Although, unlike my dogs, who were a little pissed off about our new addition, this little guy is desperate, DESPERATE, I tell you, to meet the newest family member.

Tiger, a friendly giant of a dog, has a head so big that he could probably swallow the family baby in one gulp. Fortunately for the baby (and for us), he’s got other things on his mind. He loves to hear baby squeal and giggle, and he’s figured out the trick to making that happen: Tickling.
The world would be a better place if everyone had a dog who knew how to tickle. This baby is having way too much fun.
A Golden Retriever named Angel proved herself worthy of her name last weekend when she came between her 11-year-old master and a charging cougar.
Austin Forman of Boston Bar, B.C. says he noticed his dog was acting strangely as he gathered firewood in the backyard of his home. As he made trips back and forth to the woodshed, Austin says Angel stuck close to him as if checking to see if he was okay. 1. Buying a dog when your child wants it…but you don’t.
“I always tell parents never ever get a dog for your child because your child wants it but you don’t. After the excitement phase passes, you’re left with a child who probably won’t look after it which means you’re going to be left doing the dirty work day-to-day. You’ll get angry and you’ll resent it. Let me stress: Only buy a dog if you’re really into it as well.”
The Obama’s dog, Bo, is now ten months-old and is settling happily into life in the White House, according to a canine update from AP.
While Sasha and Malia enjoy puppy playtime with Bo during the day–and try, somewhat successfully, to prevent him from chewing through magazines and shoes–it’s the parents (surprise, surprise!) who are responsible for his walks. Continue reading »
