Man Arrested for Kissing Daughter
Are you an affectionate father? Good for you. Might want to reign that in, however, if you ever visit Brazil. Thanks to a new law intended to crack down on pedophiles traveling to the area to prey on young girls, an Italian man was arrested recently for kissing his own daughter in public.
Father, mother and daughter all insist that it was simple, playful, parental affection. Yet the man remains jailed a week later.

Enraged Dad Hits Daughter with … Pizza
In Gainsville, Florida, it’s illegal to hit your child with a slice of pizza, no matter how insanely mad she makes you.
A 38-year-old man asked his daughter to get off the computer. She apparently didn’t like his tone — nor his choice of (racist, sexist) words, so — like many kids her age — the girl fired off a few remarks of her own.

Obama’s Father’s Day Message
While I can understand some of the criticism directed at President Barack Obama (the less over-heated criticism, anyway), I hope that even his harshest critics can agree that he seems to be a good dad. This Father’s Day, the Commander-in-Chief shares some of his thoughts on daddyhood in Parade Magazine.
First, a quick aside: Everyone who thinks that “print is dead” needs to realize that millions of Americans still read newspapers. Why else would President Obama contact Parade and ask them to publish his essay? He could just put it on the Internet, right? But if he did, many people wouldn’t get to read it. Continue reading »

Study Says: Want to Keep the Dad Around? Don’t Marry Him.

Wanna keep your baby daddy around after the kid comes? Don’t marry him, or at least that’s the conclusion of a study by researchers at the University of Maryland.
Actually the blessed union isn’t the deal breaker; it’s just not effective for keeping the guy around. Traditional wisdom said that if a couple got pregnant, marrying the man was the best way to keep him in the picture. However; according to this study Continue reading »
