The devastating suicide of young Phoebe Prince certainly illustrates how deadly teen bullying can be. No doubt parents need to get involved if their child is being victimized, but sometimes moms and dads are the last to know. Kids may be too embarrassed or frightened of the consequences to fill their parents in. So how can you find out if your kid is being verbally or physically pummeled? Experts at CNN have a few tips.

Jeez, not so much as a “this is regrettable” or “more could have been done.” Teachers watched the abuse Prince received the day she took her life, and yet no mea culpa from the school. Arguably, bullying is a part of life for some kids. Tough as it is, no one expects a kid to die from bullying.
But that’s just what happened at a Massachusetts school.
In January, Phoebe Prince, 15, hung herself from a stairwell in her family home. A prosecutor claims the taunting and physical threats from nine teenagers pushed the young girl to take her own life. A husband and wife have been caught and arrested after their 3-month-old daughter died of severe dehydration and malnutrition. The couple had been on the run for five months. Police say the couples’ addiction to online gaming led them to spend all their time at an Internet café, only coming home once a day to feed their child. Continue reading »
