There is a new Llama Llama book! And this one has a theme that we can all relate to…having a sick kid at home. Anna Dewdney’s newest addition to the Llama Llama library is Llama Llama Home with Mama, a sweet tale that is perfect to read on those sick and healthy days.
“Ahhh…CHOO! Llama Llama wakes up feeling under the weather. His head is feeling hot and his throat is sore. No school for little Llama today. What is there to do all day? Being sick is such a bore. But when Mama begins to feel sick, Llama knows just what to do. He gets her tissues, fluffs her pillow, and finds a book to read together. My young daughter, she loves Ladybug Girl. She’s not one for Spiderman or Superman, she prefers a superhero whose powers are far more obtainable and relatable to her own world, and Ladybug Girl is just such a hero. She’s a little girl just like her, who loves lady bugs just like her, and she is navigating her world learning to be strong, brave and self confident just like her. And now a her old friend Ladybug Girl has returned with two new titles, Ladybug Girl and the Bug Squad and Ladybug Girl at the Beach.
The two new titles deal with becoming brave when facing something somewhat scary (in the case of Ladybug Girl at the Beach) and learning to say you’re sorry to your friends, and repair hurt feelings (in the case of Ladybug Girl and the Bug Squad). Both books highlight the illustration and writing talents of the husband and wife team David Soman and Jacky Davis and are an entertaining addition to the Ladybug Girl library.
