Is pregnancy after gastric bypass too risky?
Is gastric bypass surgery worth it in the long run, especially for girls? Teenagers make up an increasing percent of bariatric surgery patients, but a new report questions whether it will put the girls, at least, at an increase risk of having babies with birth defects.

The old saying, “we’ll just be happy if the baby has ten fingers and ten toes” isn’t really about fingers and toes. It’s just a bland statement about wanting a healthy baby and caring about nothing else. But what does finger and toe count have to do with general health anyhow?

Lakshmi Tatma is pretty much like any 4-year-old. She’s a little bossy around new friends, likes to pay games with her brother, is a total daddy’s girl and just recently started school. The difference is Lakshmi was born with two torsos and 8 limbs. Oh, and she’s been worshipped as a God since birth.
It’s an impossible situation: Your one-year-old baby is sick with a severe and progressive disease that leaves him without any quality of life, so sick that even his doctors recommend removing him from life support, sick enough that you can actually begin to imagine that letting him go is the right thing to do.
