Biggest Baby In China?
There are a whole lot of babies being born in China. Small babies, medium sized babies, big babies, and really, really, really big babies, like the newborn baby boy Chun Chun.

JaMichael Brown isn't even the biggest newborn ever. But he brings up the question: is real big real bad?
There’s a reason 16-pound, 24-inch JaMichael Brown’s birth has made the news: that’s a damn big baby!
Though Janet and Michael Brown’s little guy isn’t the biggest newborn ever, it’s still, it’s unusual to birth such a large baby. Doctors worry about how such a big fetus will come into the world and also health immediately after birth.

I’ve definitely 
boasted about my son Carter’s birth weight- 9lbs 12oz all natural thankyouverymuch. And that was one day after a prenatal appointment where my OB guessed he’d be “about 7lbs.” Of my four kids he was my largest. I wonder if the doctor had known how large he was- Carter did break his collarbone during delivery- if I would have been allowed to continue naturally?
And get this….he’s a preemie! Axel Laverne Dolton entered the world three weeks early, tipping the scales at 15 pounds, 6 ounces.

A Romanian woman has given birth to an enormous baby girl, Luciana Munteneau. She’s more than twice the size of many newborns and several inches longer. Luciana joins her eight other siblings, all of whom were on the bigger side but none of whom reached her epic proportions.

An Australian woman gave birth to an incredibly large baby last week.
Chelsea Rose Mackay (left — duh!) weighed nearly twice as much as the average baby at birth. Wearing diapers and a onsie for a six-month-old, she was more than five times as long as another baby at the same hospital (and pictured), Melinda Burns, who was two months premature. Continue reading »
