Stork Craft Recalls 2.1 Million Drop-Side Cribs
Right on the heels of the enormous Maclaren stroller recall, Stork Craft is announcing the largest ever recall of cribs.
The company is asking parents to stop using their Stork Craft drop-side cribs — which are also sold under the brand name Fisher Price — immediately. Parents can order a repair kit that will fix the crib, but while they wait for it they should find an alternative safe sleeping surface for their babies and toddlers.
The repair kit will fix the drop-side, which is easy to mistakenly install upside down and can also wear out or break. Babies can get entrapped in the space and suffocate.
For more information on how to find out if your crib is involved in this recall, visit CSPC’s website.

Mom “Sexted” Naked Picture of Daughter’s Rival to Teachers
I think parents need to quit hovering and let kids figure out how to fight their own battles. It helps kids figure out how to handle conflict, plus — when compared to their parents — kids fight way more fair.

They Say - Women Argue With Men About Housework to Feel More Feminine
A survey of 15,000 American women discovered that female breadwinners ride their husbands about housework and childcare because they’re worried about losing touch with their “feminine” identity.
Excuse me while I go scream into a pillow.

Mother Complains Math Homework Is Racist
A Philadelphia area middle school teacher thought he was motivating students by putting funny clip art from Google Images onto his math worksheets.
But when he chose an image of a toothless black man in a straw hat and suspenders over top of the misspelled words, “NO WA!!!!”, one parent cried racism.

They Say: 1 in 4 Mothers Don’t Know What “Full-Term” Means
Hang around a very pregnant woman long enough and you’ll hear it, a comment that goes something like this: “I can’t stand it anymore. I wish this baby would just come already.”
In a world of scheduled inductions and c-sections, there are ways to make that happen. But while it’s sometimes medically necessary to deliver a baby before he or she is due, doctors are warning that — contrary to popular belief — it’s not perfectly safe to deliver a before 39 or 40 weeks.

Two-Year-Old Recreates Taylor Swift’s VMA Performance
It’s hard to say what’s cutest about this kiddo.
Is it the chubby cheeks? Her dramatic costume change? Or is it how she says, “I love you, New York” with flair? It all adds up to one adorable video that, according to YouTube commenters, Taylor Swift herself has seen and passed along.

New Moon - Kids Warned Not to Skip School for Vampire Movie
Vampire fans on both sides of the Team Edward/Team Jacob fence got a little lesson in what it means to be responsible last week. Orange County school administrators reminded teens that they belonged in class last Friday — the day New Moon hit the big screen — and not in a movie theater.

Girl’s Stuffed Animal Show Goes Horribly Wrong
Channing has a great idea. She’s going to put on a stuffed animal dog show, and when she’s done, she wants all of you to grab your stuffed animals and make your own show. Then she’ll choose the one that’s the best.
This sweet little video probably would have been lost in virtual oblivion had it gone as planned. Only it doesn’t.

Michael Jackson Appears in Baby’s Ultrasound
Yesterday we learned that it’s normal for an ultrasound to look, well, a little weird. The baby’s still cooking, after all, and as one tech once told me: “Ultrasound is kind of like trying to tell what an elephant looks like by feeling it’s tail.”
What’s not normal, though, is looking at your baby’s ultrasound picture and seeing the King of Pop growing in your uterus.
British couple Dawn Kelley and William Hickman were looking at a 20 week scan of their seventh child when they saw something familiar. It wasn’t Grandpa’s nose or Mom’s chin — it was Michael Jackson’s face. Take a look:
