Busy Parent Briefing: Donald Trump Endorses Mitt Romney
Celebrity bazillionaire Donald Trump has endorsed Mitt Romney as the Republican candidate for President. Mr. Trump said he will not mount an independent campaign if Mr. Romney is the Republican candidate.
The real estate mogul made the endorsement from the lobby of his opulent Las Vegas hotel, ABC News reports. Mr. Trump said he is endorsing Mr. Romney because ”Mitt is tough, he’s smart, he’s sharp. He’s not going to allow bad things to continue to happen to this country we all love.”
According to CNN, it’s “unclear whether [Trump's endorsement] will have any impact on the Republican race,” and it may actually hurt.
CNN reports,
A Pew survey last month found that 64% of definite and likely GOP voters said an endorsement from the reality television star would make no difference to them. In the survey, 13% said it would make them more likely to back a candidate, while 20% said it would actually make them less likely.
It should be noted that at the endorsement news conference, it appeared that Mr. Romney had gotten all of the glitter out of his hair after yesterday’s glitterbombing by a political activist. As a mom, I can’t help but be impressed by that. My kitchen totally looked like it had been glitterbombed after my eight-year-old daughter’s birthday party last weekend, and I am still trying to get that crap up.
Mr. Trump’s hair, however, looked just as whack as ever.
