Romney wins Florida: banks celebrate.

The Huffington Post reports that Mitt Romney has won the Florida primary, with Newt Gingrich taking second place and Rick Santorum landing in third. With 67% of precincts reporting, Romney grabbed 47% of the vote. Gingrich got 31.6% and Santorum a measly 13.2%. Earlier today Gingrich “said he intended to continue his campaign for the White House regardless of the outcome of the contest.”

Romney lost to Gingrich in the South Carolina primary 10 days ago, but today he “urged Republicans to begin coalescing around his candidacy and to focus on the party’s long-term goal of defeating President Obama,” according to The New York Times. They say, “Romney’s support in urban areas with concentrations of affluent and retired Republicans was enough to overcome Tea Party supporters, evangelicals and self-described “very conservative” voters who have generally coalesced around Mr. Gingrich.”

I’m sure the banks and corporations are feeling good tonight! How does Romney’s win make you feel?
