A Louisiana Lawmaker Takes on the Grave Issue Tearing His Community Apart: Pajamas in Public
One lawmaker in Louisiana must live in an area that has it pretty good. Prett-ay prett-ay good.
And yet. Caddo Parish Commissioner, Michael Williams, claims the “moral fiber” of his community is “dwindling.” His remedy? Ban pajamas outside of the home, according to Yahoo Shine.
Caddo Parish, which includes Shreveport — infamous for having one of the highest crime rates in the country — is in grave danger, it would seem that Williams is saying. And he knows why.
“[I]t’s pajama pants today, next it will be underwear tomorrow,” he said.
No! Not the underwear!
Apparently Williams was out on a shopping excursion when he “observed a couple of young men in loose fitting PJ’s on, probably with their private parts about to come out and no underwear.”
To date, he has drafted an attorney to assist in the writing of an ordinance, which will be presented to a commission in Louisiana.
Thank goodness the state has moved on from Hurricane Katrina, the Gulf Oil spill, KKK Grand Wizard David Duke, disgraced former Governor Edwin Edwards, hooker-loving televangelist Jimmy Swaggert, and has time to focus on the real problems.
Michael Williams will show those mothers who take their kids to the bus stop in their nightgowns and robes who’s boss. Not to mention the preschoolers who dare walk into school on Pajama Day in their, yup, pajamas. Hoodlums.
Next up: Michael Williams searches for the real killer in the OJ case.
What issue do you think should Michael Williams take on next? Cats on leashes?

goddess commented on Jan 18 12 at 5:45 pmUh oh- since WHEN is going commando anyone else’s business?
Angela commented on Jan 18 12 at 9:00 pmlol, how closely did he need to look to determine they were not wearing underwear? Just looking out for the public good I suppose.
Taz commented on Jan 19 12 at 8:34 amobviously the government shouldn’t control what we wear…but how hard is it to put some damn pants on you slobs??
Melissa commented on Jan 19 12 at 9:24 amHow hard is it to put on some pants, before stepping out of the house !?!?!?!?!?!?
Meredith Carroll commented on Jan 19 12 at 12:18 pm@Melissa – Obviously not at all, but does there really need to be a LAW about it?
Brandi commented on Jan 19 12 at 1:16 pmUp next, not allowing kids to wear costumes on any day that is not Halloween.
Obviously, this man has nothing better to do. If he gets reelected it’s your own fault Lousiana.
Sanriobaby =^.^= commented on Jan 20 12 at 5:12 pmWhat a complete waste of gov’t resources! The money and time should be spent on creating new job opportunities, after school programs, and community outreach projects, all that are proven to be far more effective at reducing the crime rate instead of trying to make wearing your pj’s outdoors illegal. If this isn’t an example of a state representative completely out of touch w/realtiy, I don’t know what is!!!
Ashleigh commented on Jan 20 12 at 11:00 pm@SANRIOBABY I toyally agree with you. What a waste. They way I look at it if they want to wear their pajamas let them. People (especially the government) shouldn’t have anything to do with other peoples individuality. It’s not like they are naked…
Heather commented on Jan 20 12 at 11:00 pmI guess the Wal-Mart in that town will be pretty empty after this! ha!
Jessica commented on Jan 21 12 at 4:36 amI am so frustrated that every small part of our lives need to be controlled. If it is not directly affecting someone else, do not worry about it.
judy54 commented on Jan 22 12 at 4:11 pmsorry but i wholeheartedly agree with him! People have no respect anymore for themselves or anyone that is forced to look at them… he is so right they would go naked if not for the law, enough is enough!!
