Going Postal: Super Cool Roald Dahl Stamps
I have stamp envy. Seriously. Never thought it would happen, since I’ve – up until now – been pretty content with our colorful American stamp action. But those Brits have created a new set of postage stamps that honors not just a beloved author born on their soil, but an author that is adored everywhere – Roald Dahl.
Also being honored in the release of these stamps is Dahl’s longtime illustrator
Quentin Blake. The stamps depict The Twits, Matilda, Fantastic Mr. Fox, James and the Giant Peach, The Witches and Charlie and the Chocolate Factory and were released to mark the 30th anniversary of the publication of Dahl’s book The BFG (Big Friendly Giant). The BFG gets it’s own sheet of stamps.
