“I Lost It!” Inspiring, Real Parents Before and After They Lost Weight
It’s a fresh, new year, a time when almost everyone takes stock of the year behind them and plans for the year ahead. Some want to get organized, others want to kick a bad habit, and many want to improve their health and ramp up their fitness routine (or start one!).
But while it’s easy to want to lose weight, the hard part is actually doing it. Shedding those extra pounds takes time, patience, discipline, and dedication.
A little inspiration helps, too. That’s where we come in. We’ve collected 14 stories and before-and-after photos from bloggers and Babble readers who’ve lost between 40 to 140 (!!) pounds. Find out how they changed that number on the scale — and their lives — for the better.

I just don’t like it when people use a pregnancy photo as their ‘before’ pic. That’s being pregnant, not fat. Wait 6 weeks for your body to naturally do its ‘recover from pregnancy’ thing, then take a ‘before’ picture.

Shontell commented on Jan 15 12 at 11:27 amMy daughter is 20 months old and My son is 4 months old. I have A LOT of weight to get off. Just started Weight Watchers last week, thanks so much for all of the added inspiration. This is a great source of encouragement!
MRitchey commented on Jan 17 12 at 1:21 pmThank you all for the inspiration! Are there any women in the 45+ age range who would be so kind as to share their losing strategies? I am currently fighting the good fight, but at 49 it is exponentially more difficult than it was when I was younger.
Jana commented on Jan 23 12 at 10:45 pmI lost almost 30 pounds before I got pregnant using ViSalus! It’s amazing! http://www.showmevichallenge.com Look here for more info! :)
Taz commented on Mar 16 12 at 10:03 pmMy little girl is 2 months old and I am ready to start the process- the last time I was weighed was at my 6 weeks and I would have to lose 24 lbs to get to my pre-preg weight!! I wouldn’t mind losing 30 or so lbs tho!! I eat pretty well and I’m active but I think I have to do some real work if I want to get back to where I was!!! I also had a lot of nausea during my pregnancy and only felt well while eating crackers or graham crackers so that really packed it on!
