Bad Santa photos

These photos of kids freaked out by Santa, either crying or just all-around sad, are proof that the Christmas icon isn’t as beloved as one might imagine.

Why so sad, guys? Many line up for the long haul to meet Santa, only to have their little one completely scared to death by the stranger in the red suit.

Of course, it’s all captured in these bad Santa photos, and while a lot of the expressions are hilarious, some of the kids’ reactions are beyond terrified.

I can’t say I blame the kids, really. Some of these mall Santas would make a grown man cry.

My kids were never particularly interested in waiting to see Santa or wanted to sit on his lap. They sat with a co-worker of mine who was dressed like Santa at a couple of holiday kid parties that my employer had, but we never endured the wait to see Santa or had the all out freak out that some of these kids experienced.

Amanda I know how you feel… I had two kids on Santa’s lap and another one (a twin) laying at his feet screaming. Stupid photographer cropped her out! It would have been the BEST photo ever. Dang. Maybe I can get the kids to recreate the scene for when I’m old :-)

My baby met Santa for the first time a couple weeks ago at 5 1/2 months old. I figure this was my one chance for a smiling photo for a while, and what I got was one of her throwing her head back laughing. Why? This Santa had a real beard, and she was yanking on it. lol.

I just really don’t understand this … Are the kids forced to see Santa and they are scared and still forced? I would never do that to my baby :( he’s 4 months old and slept through Santa … I understand a cute crying photo … But not if the child is truly scared! :(
