Make-Up vs. No Make-Up: Calling All Brave Moms to Send Us Your Mugs
Do you ever feel as if you look like the Wicked Witch of the East when you wake up barefaced in the morning, with zero shot at resembling Glinda the Good Witch until you slap on some makeup?
Besides the Herculean obstacles that so many moms face in the morning in an effort to get everyone awake, not to mention their teeth and hair brushed, fed, clothed and off to school with homework and lunch in tact, many of us can probably admit we like to put our best face forward before we go off and face the world each day. And that best face sometimes requires a little assistance from the cosmetic counter.
Well, we want to witness your beauty before and after (because we have no doubt you’re stunning either way). Beauty isn’t only skin deep, and sometimes it’s kind of nice to actually see other women before they beautify themselves on the outside. Because sometimes the most unglamorous shots are the most beautiful ones of all.
If you’re game and feeling brave, send us your photos and we might feature them in an upcoming Babble post.
E-mail photos of yourself with make-up and without make-up to strollerderby@gmail.com and check back soon to see a post of all our favorite Babble readers in all their glory (if not their glamor).

Meagan commented on Dec 07 11 at 5:17 pmHaven’t worn make up since the 10th grade. It makes me feel icky and doesn’t look good on me at all. And yes, I’ve had people who are good at make up give it a try and the results are always unimpressive. Not that I mind, less work for me waking up!
Kylee commented on Dec 07 11 at 6:43 pmSame way.. No make up!!! Hate it! and saves money!
Stacia commented on Dec 07 11 at 6:44 pmI don’t do makeup either. Can’t you do a post celebrating natural beauty instead of a comparison…?
Meagan commented on Dec 08 11 at 12:41 amHear hear Stacia. The idea of a before and after just emphasizes the notion that women aren’t enough without make up. Not to go all feminist, but I have many memories of my mother (who is beautiful with or without make up btw) refusing to leave the house until she’d finished putting her make up on. I didn’t even realize that she WAS beautiful until I was an adult… because she never seemed to think she was.
I don’t necessarily think wearing make up is anti feminist or something… I guess the babble makeover vibe is just giving me the creeps.
Bunnytwenty commented on Dec 08 11 at 9:37 amWhat’s wrong with “going all feminist”? :P
jmazewski commented on Dec 14 11 at 10:13 amI never wear make-up too, esp going to the grocery store, Target, the park, etc. But when I go somewhere I know people will recognize me, I’ll put on a little eyeliner and mascara so at least I look like I’m awake!
