Adult ‘Toy’ Store Holds Kid Toy Drive With, Uh, Interesting Incentives
Major props to any business or organization that holds toy drives for kids over the holidays. After all, the thought of a child with no gifts at Christmas can be heartbreaking.
That being said, one specific store in Alabama seems an unlikely candidate to try and save the children.
Pleasures, an “adult” toy store, is holding a charity drive for Toys for Tots and Save the Ta-Tas this Christmas season, according to The Huffington Post. And if you give a little, you get a little.
As in, give a child’s toy, receive a complimentary adult toy from a goody bag of sorts. The goody bag? It’s full of adult toys, like a vibrating bullets and edible body paint. Pleasures will also donate $1 to the Save the Ta-Tas organization in your name.
The store’s owner, Sherri Williams, says she’s a long-time supporter of breast cancer research, and she also likes the idea of helping kids in need.
“We are helping children, and saving the breasts that feed them,” said Williams.
Toys for Tots, however, isn’t thrilled with the contributions from Pleasures, calling their involvement “inappropriate.” One of the foundation’s employees told The Huffington Post they should not be advertised in an adult store.
So far Pleasures has received lots of toys, including several bicycles, even though no one under the age of 18 is permitted in the store.
The toy drive runs through Dec. 15. And tomorrow, Dec. 3, local Huntsville radio station 95.1 will be broadcasting live from the store, where donors can pose for holiday photos with Dirty Santa or Sexy Mrs. Claus.
Do you support Pleasures giving back to kids and breast cancer charities? Or do you think they should just make a monetary donation and keep their chest full of pleasures to themselves?

Alison commented on Dec 02 11 at 12:57 pmI’m certainly do not understand why they would think it was appropriate. It’s people donating to charity. That’s a good thing.
Suzie commented on Dec 02 11 at 3:11 pmIt’s not like they’re encouraging KIDS to come into the store, it’s parents of the kids or nonparents, but people who want to help kids. I think Toys for Tots needs to be grateful and not turn away donations, most especially in times like these, geesh! Sex is good and fun between consenting adults. What’s the problem?
Richan commented on Dec 02 11 at 6:36 pmAgree with suzie
skelly commented on Dec 02 11 at 8:30 pmThe idea of condemning this store is so in line with the sex-negativity out there it’s appalling. So, what, people that enjoy sex toys can’t care for children? Well I guess us parents are in a pickle if there were a set of handcuffs involved during conception :P Like the article mentions, this is an over 18 store. As a former foster care child, and now a worker at an organization that gets toy donations to give to our homeless children clients, I could care less where it comes from. These people are doing a wonderful thing for kids in need and the store is doing a fantastic job at drawing in interest from a population that might not have been targeted otherwise. At the end of the day, a little sex among adults is not immoral in the least and the children will be just as happy come christmas morning regardless of where the G.I. Joe came from. Good on ya, pleasures of Alabama!

Gena commented on Dec 03 11 at 11:18 pmI thought Charity meant Charity…
I didn’t realize Charity was so prejudice ..
It’s appalling… Keep it up Pleasures!!! I am so glad you are part of the Huntsville
Community and I intend to donate Toys ASAP!

Cathey Carney commented on Dec 04 11 at 8:04 amNothing like a highbrow organization who proclaims to help kids, to then pick and choose where the money comes from. Criticizing the source while at the same time holding their hands out for the donations. I’m sure Salvation Army or any other needy organization would be very happy to receive anything they were given.
Kudos to Sherri and her company for thinking of a unique way that benefits kids and mothers. This all certainly makes me think twice about donating to Toys for Tots in the future.
Sherri commented on Dec 07 11 at 2:08 amDear Friends,
It’s encouraging when the general public is supportive of my “outside the box” promotional campaigns!
Toys for Tots described my charity drive as inappropriate,
but many feel that it doesn’t matter where a donation comes from and applaud the effort.
The Sexy Santa radio remote netted 18 toy donations today!Thank You for your support

Amensej commented on Jan 09 12 at 11:28 pmOur local Toys for Tots turned down over 200 toys that were donated through a toy drive at a local bar several years ago. Luckily, we ran a not for profit Christmas party, and were able to make use of the toys. Our organization didnt give a rat where these new toys, including a bike and a trike came from, and neither did the kids.
