What if “Star Wars” got “The Grinch” treatment?

Watch this video of “The Sith Who Stole Christmas,” with Darth Vader in the Grinch role.

This is either totally brilliant… or a total waste of time, depending on how much of a Star Wars fan you are.

No doubt Darth Vader is the ultimate Grinch, but reactions are mixed for this latest YouTube viral video, with Star Wars diehards and Grinch fans finding the sci fi/Christmas movie classic mashup not to their liking.

It’s worth a viewing for sure, and you can’t deny how well the Grinch song works with the edited scenes of Darth Vader’s evilness.

Of course “How the Grinch Stole Christmas” purists may not be so hip on Darth Vader’s role, but you can’t deny that the Ewok party representing the Whos in Whoville is pretty adorable.

And with that, we leave you with these Grinch Who Stole Christmas lyrics:

You’re a foul one, Mr. Grinch
You’re a nasty wasty skunk,
Your heart is full of unwashed socks, your soul is full of gunk, Mr. Grinch,
The three words that best describe you are, and I quote,
Stink, stank, stunk

I’m the maker of this video and I find this post strange and confusing. I think it’s perfectly all right if the editor of a web site wants to write that he doesn’t like a video, but when you wrote “reactions are mixed for this latest YouTube viral video, with Star Wars diehards and Grinch fans finding the sci fi/Christmas movie classic mashup not to their liking” I could only shake my head in confusion.

It’s one of the best liked videos I’ve ever made, with YouTube likes beating dislikes by a score of 2,243 to a mere 25. It’s approximately the same percentage in the comments section on YouTube and at other sites. Also, if those aren’t Star Wars and Grinch fans watching the video, who are they? The people who don’t like Star Wars or the Grinch would never bother clicking on it.

If you want to dislike this video, fine. It’s your right to say so, and constructive feedback would never be a bad thing. I’m not looking for positive words everywhere with this thing. I simply find this article totally baffling.

I’ve had twenty minutes to think about this, and if anything this confuses me more than ever, so much so that I went through the comments section and found, out of 200 comments, only one bad comment, and it was hardly scathing:

“Meh. I don’t see why is the media hyping this up so big.”

Yes. Someone “Meh”ed me.

I know girls don’t like Star Wars much, and females only make up something like 20% of my total view count…but still. Just say you don’t like it. You don’t have to so blatantly lie.
