Google is at it again, entertaining the masses with a fun trick on their homepage. Capitalizing on the success of their Google Doodles, one of their engineers has created a search-based practical joke of sorts that will give you and your kids a chuckle. What is it?
Sit the kids down, head to Google and search the phrase “do a barrel roll.” Watch the graphics on your screen do just that and get dizzy for a minute! That’s it. Simple, entertaining and unexpected. Like doing a barrel roll in real life.
According to ABC News, Google explained, ”Today’s fun query, ‘do a barrel roll,’ was created by a Google software engineer with the primary goal of entertaining users — while showcasing the power of CSS3, a presentation feature of modern browsers. The “do a barrel roll” query, which causes the search page to spin, will remain in place for a while.” So you’ll have plenty of chances to get your kicks from Google’s latest trick.
