Baby Lisa Irwin Update: Interview with Her Brothers Canceled by Parents – Why?
This Friday Kansas City police were hoping to interview the older brothers of Baby Lisa Irwin. But at the last minute, the interview with the 8-year-old and 5-year-old boys was canceled or rather “indefinitely postponed.”
The two brothers have only spoken to the police once, on the day that their 10-month-old sister Lisa Irwin disappeared. They were to have met with an investigator who has special training in working with children and they were to have DNA samples taken at the same time. So why was the interview canceled?
“I’ve done research and see more potential for harm than good with the interview; it won’t happen tomorrow and maybe never,” one of the family’s lawyers stated. Parents Jeremy Irwin and Deborah Bradley have been a bit leery of having their boys talk to the police, especially after they felt that the authorities were particularly cruel in their questioning.
On Friday Jeremy Irwin and Deborah Bradley were to have a news conference and another tour of their home but both were canceled as well.
Do you think they should let their sons be interviewed by the police regardless of the harm that could happen, just in case they have any clues to their sister’s disappearance?

Jessi commented on Oct 28 11 at 3:27 pmI definitely think the kids should be interviewed. If the parents feel the police would be to harsh i’m sure they can be there as well as their lawyer and they would have a special person interview them who had experience with kids. Why wouldn’t you let your kids be interviewed if you were innocent and wanted every possibl detail investigated. Kids sometimes know things/remember things better than adults. Also i would think the kids weren’t in bed at 6:30 like the baby when did the mom put them to bed does she remember that? someone knows more than they are saying and maybe those kids have a piece of the puzzle. i can only imagine how they are feeling w/o their baby sister, this case is just to weird and i really hope they find baby Lisa it’s all so sad i cant even imagine…..
Kathy Michaels commented on Oct 28 11 at 4:00 pmYes the children should be questioned. In fact they should get a court order to do so. I am shocked that they haven’t already been interviewed. First the mother is in bed with one, later she is in bed with both boys, something is wrong here. I strongly believe the boys know something. This mother is not doing everything she should be to find her daughter. Nothing more has been said about her anxiety meds and those mixed with alcohol, not a good mix.
Sue commented on Oct 28 11 at 4:04 pmIf she was drunk and passed out at 6:45- not 10:30 like she first said..What were the little boys- the brothers– doing??? Perhaps one of them did something…a mistake of course…I just don’t get why they were going to talk to the boys and now they are not…
J. Davis commented on Oct 28 11 at 4:10 pmthis is actually right down the street from us 2 streets. I used to ride my bike through there as a kid. They are currently searching a small pond where people in the neighborhood fish at and go to feed the ducks. I think its crazy, and I do think the mom did it. I dont know if she’s playing stupid with the dad, but it sounds like he’s not all that sure, but he has been convicted of crimes before too, and he was in the military- stationed at fort bragg where this same thing happened, and the lady had the baby in the attic, which had been dead for weeks before the dad came home on leave. regardless… its not adding up. If that were one of my sons, i’d be looking constantly non stop everywhere, the police wouldn’t be able to get me to stop looking. Which makes me wonder if the reason she’s not doing that is she already knows where she is……..
cindy perry commented on Oct 28 11 at 4:12 pmI THINK THEY SHOULD BE INTERVIEWED WITH THE PROPER PEOPLE THERE TO INTERVENE IF NEED BE IN THAT I MEAN THERAPIST TRAINED IN INTERVIEWING CHILDREN NOT JUST THE POLICE THEMSELVES THEY COULD DO MORE DAMAGE THAN GOOD WITHOUT THE HELP OF A PERSON OR PERSONS TRAINED IN THIS. POLICE DON’T HAVE THE PROPER TRAINING MOST OF THEM. BUT I DO THINK IT MIGHT HELP IN FINDING THAT BABY AND I JUST WONDER WHY THE PARENTS DON’T WANT THEM INTERVIEWED I SURE WOULD UNLESS I WAS GUILTY OF SOMETHING. I WISH YOU ALL THE LUCK IN FINDING OUT WHAT HAPPENED AND WILL BE PRAYING FOR THE LORD TO HELP YOU IN YOUR SEARCH FOR ANSWERS HE’S THE ONE WHO HOLDS THE ANSWERS GO TO HIM FOR HELP.
agilberry commented on Oct 28 11 at 4:16 pmwell, the unfortunate part is…since the Casey Anthony case…i think we’ll be seeing a lot more of this kinda stuff. it’s too early to judge.
lisa gonzalez commented on Oct 28 11 at 4:19 pmyes i think the boys should be question intill the investigators have everything they need…come on those boys might have something they did start to open up that they heard something and soon after that the parent stop helping them…the dog in the back yard were if the dog didnt know the person he would have bark like he did the day the police tried to enter the back…mom and dad stop talking when things started to heat up…then they cancel the meeting at the last minute…there is no question that im sure everyone is thinking that maybe the parents do have something to hide..even there own neighbor that was on her side intill the mother of baby lisa stop helping the police look for their own daughter that they love so much..im telling u if they find baby lisa and something did happen to her and the parents had something to do with it after all those tears they did that look so real i dont know if i would trust a word again from anyone…that would be so horrible and un human …i dont understand and dont think i will ever understand why those parents stop looking or helping police to look for there daughter….if your innocent as u say u should never have giving up on your daughter i dont care how much the police thought i had something to do with it….and if im not mistaking the police have protocol and when something like this happen everyone is a suspect intill proven innocent…please if you call yourself a mother then dont stop helping the police a real mother that loves her children wouldnt at no cost stop looking for that child till the child has been found…find baby lisa its been to long….
echo commented on Oct 28 11 at 4:36 pmI am on the parent’s side on this one. I dont believe they were involved and I dont believe it is neccessary to interview the children, they are so young and were asleep.
Cheryl Morse commented on Oct 28 11 at 4:44 pmI think it also has been too long on the baby Lisa case. Someone is guilty and I don’t think it’s the parents. Someone did take this adorable baby, but who is the question. What gets me is this stranger that was walking in the cold at 2-2:30 am in the morning with a baby just with a diaper on. What kind of freak does this to a baby?? especially at the early mornings. Babies are usually asleep by that time. Who is the stranger and why not investigate the video and try to find out who the stranger is and maybe he had baby Lisa. One never knows!!!
Katherine Dressel commented on Oct 28 11 at 4:44 pmI think the kids had to have seen or herd something they were right next door the cops will not harsh with the the kids. If they are innocent they should let the kids talk to the police
Lynne commented on Oct 28 11 at 5:02 pmI don’t know what happened. I just feel something fishy did happen. That innocent little girl.
Carolynn Iaciofano commented on Oct 28 11 at 5:39 pmI don’t know that if questioning an 8 year old and a 5 year old is wise. Children often get nervous and can lie at first but then the truth comes out. I know this having worked with children of all ages. I think the parents need to stop hiding behind the two boys and let the truth come out so that this baby can be found!
Lacey commented on Oct 28 11 at 5:47 pmI seriously doubt that those boys were asleep at 6:30. As a mom of 4, if I put my kids to bed that early they would be up playing, looking for an excuse to get up ect. They should be questioned to see if there stories match one of the stories that the mom has told. I think the mom knows and if she was innocent she wouldn’t be changing her story and being uncooperative.
sherry commented on Oct 28 11 at 6:00 pmthis note to for debra bradly you do not have time to grieve nor being tired i put more into finding my lost dog then you have finding your lost baby i do not want to sound mean but face it your child is missing get down to the police station and go threw all you have to no matter what to find your child clear your names from any wrong doing right now every is starting to think other about you if it were my child you would do any thing look at cindy anthony no matter what any said about her she search and search for her granddaughter talk to the media she did not care get off your butt set aside your grief put your daughter first she has been gone way to long i am on your side but you both need to start talking
frances commented on Oct 28 11 at 6:02 pmI believe if the person who interviews the childeren do specialize in that field it would be fine. And of course to keep it short so the children are not afraid. If it was my baby I would do “ANYTHING” in my power to help bring “MY CHILD HOME”… i do question the father I find it odd that his emotions for his daughter is not very clear…I feel the mother may “HOLD THE KEY’ to this mystery… I pray for her safe return…
heather commented on Oct 28 11 at 6:09 pmif it was my kids i would let them be interviewed because i would want to do everything i could to get my baby back! this is a parents worst nightmare.
Alley commented on Oct 28 11 at 7:08 pmI worked with children for over ten years and if done the right way with the right people the children can talk to the police. But you have to stop and think about this One wrong word, wrong pharse from the children and the police will take it and run with it some kids remember alot of things some get things mixed up and say the wrong things. Now I am not sure where baby Lisa is but I pray for her every day and I can only hope that if the mother had something to do with it that her guilt will eat her alive I am not sure why she would only harm one of her children if she did. But one thing I do know a little drink in the evening to wine down is ok but being so drunk you can not remember where or what happen to your baby is something that needs to be address with the remaining children and question if the children are safe. I have a new grandbaby my first and if it was my child or grand baby missing I would not eat, sleep until I found them. I would not stop no matter what, So my question is to this mother why are you not out there looking for your baby? If you know where she is please go get her she deserves better then what she is getting. Do I think Lisa is alive no I do not. Just like little Kayle, I beleive She is a angle now……. Please I ask again if you know where your baby is please go get her…….
Jackie commented on Oct 28 11 at 7:42 pmThe mom probably thinks there is nothing the boys can offer in terms of further information, especially if they were in bed sleeping. So why subject them to stressful questioning about a traumatic incident. Especially if the police are going to be asking the kids about suspicious behavior about the mother.
Melissa commented on Oct 28 11 at 11:15 pmI would let my children be interviewed if it meant helping to find my child. Also, regardless what I thought the cops or anyone else would have thought of me, I would have told the truth from the start, not waited to come clean about the drinking! (Let me back up a bit, I personally would have never had that much to drink knowing I was in charge of 3 minor children by myself, but thats a choice she made) Things just dont add up, everytime I want to give her the benefit of the doubt something new comes up, and it is just getting harder to believe the parents dont have a clue what happened. I hate to sound ugly but the reason I read for the reason for the canceled interviews was said to be that they were tired…Honey, rest when you find your baby! Until then do more that wear a T-shirt with her picture on it and dont worry about there not being enough focus on Lisa. You put the focus on her, have people talk about you in a good way saying this momma just wont stop looking for her child. If you know you are innocent then you have nothing to hide and nothing to lie about.
Samantha commented on Oct 30 11 at 3:05 pmI think the children should be interviewed with out the parents in sight! if the parents are their or course the kids are going to lie. its funny that the police were suppose to have a interview with the kids and now all of a sudden they have a convoy and leave and no one knows where they went! this mom knows what happend to that baby thats why they left so no one can find them! they know they are guilty but just dont want to admit it. And this person that recieved a phone call from one of the phones that was missing from debrahs house i think she is a big pile of lies to! this case is really making me mad! its so funny how the night the baby disappered was the first night the dad “worked late” yea right! he knows whats going on to and i will be so glad when these idiots are convicted. I have two kids and i would never harm them on purpose and if my child was missing i would do everything i could to find my child not leave the area where the child could be! these people are a bunch of idiots!!!
