The Totally Amazing Then & Now Photos of Irina Werning
Photographer Irina Werning is on quite a trip. She is going “back to the future” in her photo series of the same name.
Werning – paying very close attention to detail – recreates the childhood photographs of her subjects. From their clothing, their hairstyle, to the lighting and backgrounds of the old pictures, she pays an accurate homage to the originals. It’s a pretty brilliant idea and fortunately Werning is an extremely gifted photographer and has the skills to see the project through to perfection.
Buenes Aires native Werning said of her ongoing project:
“I love old photos. I admit being a nosy photographer. As soon as I step into someone else’s house, I start sniffing for them. Most of us are fascinated by their retro look but to me, it’s imagining how people would feel and look like if they were to reenact them today… A few months ago, I decided to actually do this. So, with my camera, I started inviting people to go back to their future.”
