Nicki Minaj Sings “Super Bass” with YouTube Stars on Ellen (Video)
If you couldn’t get enough of that YouTube video of a little girl totally nailing Nicki Minaj’s “Super Bass,” check this out.
Nicki Minaj made a surprise appearance on Ellen DeGeneres to meet the girls and perform the song together.
Sophia Grace, 8, and her cousin Rosie, 5, have a huge YouTube viral video on their hands with their “Super Bass” cover (over 7 million views!). While the video is drawing criticism for the lyrics of the Minaj song (not super kid appropriate), there’s no denying that young Sophia has an amazing musical talent.
Sophia and Rosie, decked out in their princess costumes, appeared on The Ellen DeGeneres Show and Ellen had a little surprise for them – a makeover, a shopping spree AND the chance to sing a duet with Minaj.
Sophia was so excited to meet Minaj, that she screamed and jumped in her arms for a huge hug.
Nicki explained that “Within five seconds of seeing this video I was calling everyone. I was also receiving a billion emails. Everyone was like you have to see this little girl.”
Minaj did have some sound words of advice for the YouTube girls: “I just want you to stay in school. Music is beautiful but stay in school, ok. Put your books first and singing second.”
