Little Girl Rocks Nicki Minaj “Super Bass” (Video)
Check out the little girl singing/rapping “Super Bass,” by Nicki Minaj, in a new viral video.
Don’t hate me, but I love this.
I love Nicki Minaj’s “Super Bass” and I’m thrilled when I hear someone do a decent cover of it.
That it just happens to be an adorable kid named Sophia Grace Brownlee spitting out Minaj’s rap (and singing equally well)… I’m smitten.
Let’s put aside the fact that the lyrics aren’t entirely kid appropriate (“who the F I is,” for example) – and just focus on how well this kid spits it out. Flawlessly.
For comparison purposes, check out the kid singing “Super Bass” versus Nicki Minaj’s version in the videos below.
Plus, bonus points for the princess costume. There’s something fabulous about the juxtaposition of a princess spewing out a rap.
Even Justin Bieber is a fan, tweeting: “haha. @selenagomez looks like u got some competition for best @nickiminaj impression. lil girl is GOIN IN!! crazy!”

LILY commented on Oct 06 11 at 7:17 pmI saw this the other day and it made me want to cry. I consider myself to have a great sense of humor but how many times a day does that kid listen to that song to know all the words! I don’t even know all of the words! It pains me that her parent(s) allow this to go on and I cannot ignore the fact that the song is totally inappropriate. Shame on the parents.

Sanriobaby =^.^= commented on Oct 11 11 at 2:01 pmI am SOOOO conflicted whenever I hear young children singing along to songs that are too old for them. On one hand, I look back on my own childhood (80′s kid) and I sang along to all kinds of songs on the radio. I knew all the words, yet I was too young to truly know what I was repeating. I wonder as an adult, why in the world did my mom allow this? Now whenever I look at young kids doing the same thing, it bothers me but at the same time I know for the most part they don’t know what those words really mean. This particular girl was singing along to a song that most adults can’t sing to even half way decently, and she did a great job. She is very talented, but then again, why is her mother allowing her to listen to an artist that is CLEARLY not for a child’s ears? In THIS case, this song was highly inappropriate and the mother should know better. When it comes to music, it’s not always so clear, but I guess it’s every parent’s decision to make on what’s appropriate for their kids or not, regardless of public opinion. I know in my case, I’ll have to REALLY think about the music I choose to play around my own child in the future.
Celia commented on Oct 11 11 at 3:14 pmFor me the saving grace is that this gifted little cutie is such a tiny little person. There is no way that she understands the lyrics. I assume she was not allowed to watch the video but just heard the song over and over on a CD or ipod. The words blur up together a bit in her rendition kinda like the classic “mycountrytisavi” in the US national anthem.
