Sister Wives’ Kody Brown and Wives on GMA: Thankful They Came Out as Polygamists (Video)
The Sister Wives’ Kody Brown and three of his four wives sat down for a Good Morning America interview to plug the new season of their series, premiering September 25.
Brown and his sister wives (Robyn couldn’t come because she’s due to have a baby soon) said they are thankful for the reality show on TLC, saying their kids “no longer have to sit there and worry about — my weird family — their friends all know. Everybody knows.”
The new season of Sister Wives will look at the family’s adjustment to their new homes in Las Vegas. They moved to Vegas from Utah because of the anti-polygamy laws in Utah.
Janelle noted that the lawsuit they’ve filed is “a way to protect our family because in the past polygamist families have been broken up because of the law.”
There’s discussion of the terminology “compound,” which they do not practice.
Christine added, “[Warren Jeffs] is not our poster child and so one of the reasons we wanted to come public is to show the absolute differences with how we live our family versus how he runs his community.”

jboogie commented on Sep 21 11 at 3:57 pmI’m not really into reality TV, but I have to say that this show definitely changed my view of what a polygamist family looks like. I was really intrigued by the wives’ interactions together, but they are surprisingly ‘normal’. I mean, I can’t imagine living that lifestyle, but I think this show highlights the fact that alternative families (is that the right term?) are just as functional and successful as the traditional model.
Kelly commented on Sep 21 11 at 9:42 pmI watched the first two seasons and thought the family was great. I was really sad that they felt they needed to leave their house and move. We really need to get rid of the polygamy law.
Brandi commented on Sep 22 11 at 2:50 amI personally feel their untraditional family is a healthier situation than the millions of broken families in the US. All of those children have a father & 4 mothers who love them and are there for them. How is that bad?

myopinion commented on Sep 27 11 at 10:41 amIt is amazing how many dumb ass woman think that an untraditional family is the best way to go. These people will eventually get fed up with the life they live. The teenagers are sick of the way they have to live especially since they brought in the stupidest of the bunch of low self-esteem women.
