A fireman on 9/11.

As the tenth anniversary of the attack on the World Trade Center approaches, we are all looking back on that time to think about where we were, what we were doing, and how the moment the first tower fell it seemed like absolutely everything changed. For most of us, this change, no matter how palpable, was merely an internal adjustment. For the people of New York City, the physical change to their streets, their routines, and their skyline continues to affect them every day.

These photos, assembled from personal collections on Flickr, are images that bring back the sense of pride that many of us felt after the devastation, as we worked through our horror over the event, but watched fellow Americans working together to bring order backĀ  from the chaos. First through the efforts to find survivors, second to excavate the ruins, and finally to rebuild and remember those we lost.

I was wondering if i could use this photo on a webpage i’m creating for my history class in school. The website is about the damage caused by Hurricane Irene and the photo would be very helpful. Please and thank you.
