Teen model's parents suing over inappropriate photo

Teen model Hailey Clauson’s parents are suing mad over a racy photo taken of their daughter when she was just 15.

But it appears there’s more to their lawsuit than just “my daughter’s too young to be posing provocatively for photos” – no, Clausen’s parents seem a bit more concerned that the photographer allowed retailer Urban Outfitters to use the image on t-shirts.

Are they miffed over the use of the image because it’s too sexy for a 15 year old… or because they didn’t get a cut from Urban Outfitters?

It’s unclear what their angle is. As a minor, wouldn’t Hailey Clauson’s parents have to oversee this photo shoot? Couldn’t they have vetoed these poses before they ever happened?

The lawsuit alleges that Hailey “is posed in a blatantly salacious manner with her legs spread, without a bra, revealing portions of her breasts. The image of Teen in a spread eagle position making her crotch area the focal point of the image may portray a child in a sexually suggestive manner and may be in violation of one or more federal and/or state laws.”

Since the photos were shot, Hailey has become a pretty accomplished model, so some are arguing that her parents are more upset with not getting a cut of the t-shirt sales than they are over the actual content of the photos.

Is this a case of inappropriate teen photos… or a photo licensing agreement with money being the bottom line?

ABC’s Good Morning America talked with the photographer – check out this GMA video of the interview:

[...] Teen Model Pic Too Racy Parents Sue Photographer For Salacious Pics News Flash: The modesty ship sailed for this teen before the first “salacious pic” was taken. There is no way the parents should get a free pass on this one. What is their argument? “Your Honor, we believe guy that we allowed to pay us to take pictures of our daughter in the clothing we let her wear, well… we think he lacks taste and propriety and didn’t protect our daughters decency.” (Related post: Lingerie for Tiny Tots is Disgusting) [...]

It probably has everything to do the licensing of the photos. The parents and model are probably pissed that Urban are using her image without their permission.
