Is your child's happiness over a 4-year period more important than the monetary value of a college degree?
Before your high school-age kids start looking at colleges, there are countless factors to take into consideration. Cost is no small question for many folks — is the sky the limit when it comes to tuition, or do you have a spending cap? Is the perceived worth of a diploma which graduates from specific colleges walk away with important to your family? Or is the value of specific majors in the job world more critical to your criteria?
For some families, the most important part of the college experience is how happy their kids will be over the course of four years — the supposed significance of the diploma or the price of the education be damned.
Clearly happiness is in the eye of the beholder, but in their annual college survey, the Princeton Review surveyed 122,000 college students about their level of satisfaction in school. Here are the 10 schools whose students report the biggest smiley faces:
