Harry Potter Newborn Dolls Creep Me Out (Photos)
If you have a hungry little Harry Potter fan who can’t get their hands on enough HP merchandise, we think we’ve found the one thing that is entirely too creepy. Even for the most die-hard of Potter fans.
Check out the line of Harry Potter newborn dolls, inspired by the characters in the beloved books and movie franchise. Life-like? Maybe. Horrifying? A bit.
The creepy little Harry Potter baby dolls were available on eBay from artist Tracy Ann Lister.
Let’s begin with the darling baby Voldemort doll. It’s all about the eyes, really. Not a hint of cute, except for that cute jumper! Do not make eye contact with this little bugger.
The Harry Potter doll is vaguely adorable, except, of course, for that fresh forehead scar.
Hermione is the cutest of the bunch, but how could she not be?
Other Potter newborns include Remus Lupin (it’s all about the hair!), Severus Snape, Tonks, and a wrinkly crinkly Dobby!
Do these dolls give you the creeps?

Amy commented on Aug 03 11 at 10:38 pmThose dolls are creepy! Oh, Remus Lupin was 7 or 8 when he was bitten by a werewolf so he was a normal baby (yes, I am a HP geek).
Sharyn commented on Aug 03 11 at 10:42 pmAAAAAHHHHHHH!!!!!!!
That’s the sound of me screaming in horror.
Andrea commented on Aug 03 11 at 10:59 pmHarry was around one when attacked by Voldemort, so he would NOT have had a scar as a newborn. Fellow Potter geek here, too.
Jenna commented on Aug 04 11 at 12:14 amI love Harry Potter, but no. Just no. Also, previous posters were right about Lupin and Harry.
The Gentle Mom commented on Aug 04 11 at 12:47 amI just finished rereading the entire HP series last night, so I am riding high on Harry. But still…no. Just no. These are horrifying. http://www.thegentlemom.com
Jenna commented on Aug 04 11 at 1:41 amI was going to mention Lupin and Harry not being accurate but Andrea and the other Jenna beat me to it. :) These dolls are creepy though because ANY super lifelike doll is uber creepy.
Beth commented on Aug 04 11 at 3:26 amWhy would Baby Voldemort have evil eyes. Didn’t he looked completely normal as a child??
Also, where are Dobby’s cute ears?? :)
Ami commented on Aug 04 11 at 7:01 amThe Severus Snape doll cracks me up. Seriously, that hair is perfect.
Jessica commented on Aug 04 11 at 1:35 pmThese dolls would give me nightmares! Though I did giggle a bit at Tonks’ purple hair. Gotta love the attention to (creepy) detail! :)
amy commented on Aug 05 11 at 11:00 amScreaming with Sharyn!!!!!!
Becks commented on Aug 05 11 at 1:51 pmSo also Hermione was muggle burn and would not be in a gryfindor nightie, if ya wanna get technical.
Nay commented on Aug 06 11 at 11:50 amAlso, along with the Lupin comment, Voldemort was an attractive boy – he wouldn’t have the creepy eyes. So… creepy to normal people, and inaccurate (and therefore disappointing) to Potter geeks.
Angry Mangry commented on Aug 07 11 at 5:06 pmI’m scared. Really.
Jeannie commented on Aug 07 11 at 6:35 pmOnly Voldemort creeps me out Severus is so cute.
Jen commented on Aug 11 11 at 10:39 amI say give the artist a break on the technicalities. So Voldy was never a baby. So what? The artist rendered him beautifully! And so what if Hermione was born to muggle parents. If you don’t like her onsie, KNIT one yourself. I think she’s adorable and would take her home in a heartbeat if I could, Gryffindor snuggly and all.
The one’s commenting that these are creepy either just don’t like dolls, or haven’t seen a Krypt Kiddy doll before. They are far creepier (but still amazingly cute) than even the Voldy doll here. I would take any one of these dolls here if I could.
cassie commented on Aug 14 11 at 5:35 pmthese dolls are pathetic. they have absolutely no correlation to the books/movies or development of them. they are nothing more than a disgusting ploy to make money off the harry potter franchise. i really hope these are not backed by jk rowling or anyone for that matter. horrible.
Sue commented on Aug 14 11 at 5:58 pmKrypt Kiddies?!?! YE GODS!!!! Now THOSE are horrifying! I like the dolls, but I have to say, Voldemort wouldn’t make it into my collection if I WERE collecting, LOL!! I think they’re very inventive. But, frankly, I think ALL dolls are creepy!!!
Mary commented on Aug 14 11 at 6:14 pmThe same things occurred to me about the “technical inaccuracies”. I guess that If you’re going to do something like this with such well-known characters from such popular stories, you have to expect a little flack if you play fast and loose with the Potter lore. Also, where are Ron Weasely and Draco Malfoy? I’ll bet they are “in development”, as they say.
All that being said, the dolls are impressive works of art…and a little creepy. The two things are not mutually exclusive
Christy in NC commented on Aug 14 11 at 7:10 pmThere isn’t anything cute about any of those. And I just looked on the Krypt Kiddy website and seriously, anyone who would think those abominations are cute needs therapy.
Sierra commented on Aug 14 11 at 7:12 pmI have to agree that they do look a bit creepy, but I feel that the Severus Snape doll is adorable, but then again he is my favorite character.
Mysti commented on Aug 14 11 at 7:29 pmI hope JK Rowling sues. These are totally irrelevant to true HP fans and thus merely mercenary opportunism.
tf commented on Aug 14 11 at 7:34 pmi could do without the dobby doll, and seeing the eyes on lil voldemort made me say “ew!” but wow, @ first i thought the harry potter doll was a real baby!!! that is one realistic doll!!!!!!!
mary commented on Aug 14 11 at 8:29 pmVoldamort was a normal boy until he learned he was a wizard and discovered the dark and evil side of magic. these dolls are just plain stupid who would waste the money on them.
jerry commented on Aug 15 11 at 12:07 amCREEPPPPYYYYY! i love it
Jennifer commented on Aug 15 11 at 1:24 amThey aren’t that bad. If thinking of them as dolls gives you an issue, just consider them art :)
Lisette commented on Aug 15 11 at 9:04 amLOVE baby Dobby. Yes, as previous posters pointed out, there are inconsistencies with the books, but I think there should be a bit of artistic license allowed. Clearly she took recognizeable traits of each of these characters and rendered them in newborn fashion. Voldemort may have never been a baby, but c’mon! Who doesn’t enjoy his newborn rendering? (Despite the obvious creepy factor!)
Jan commented on Aug 15 11 at 10:50 amewwww! Someone is living in HP land and has forgotten that there is a real world out there. Sadly, there are folks who would buy these things. I enjoyed the books and movies along with my kids. My son dressed as a deatheater one Halloween and has a poster on his wall but that’s as far as it goes.
Jaspirita commented on Aug 15 11 at 11:20 amI think the Tonk’s one is absolutely adorable! None of these are creepy O_O
Kell commented on Aug 15 11 at 6:34 pmI wish they would have made a Ron doll although all the dolls are creepy I would have loved to see a mini Ron doll with all that red hair lol
Katherine C. commented on Aug 15 11 at 6:52 pmI love Harry Potter, but these things are scary. O.O
Doll-phobic commented on Aug 15 11 at 11:25 pmDo you really have to ask if this is creepy or not? e.e
MAILE commented on Sep 03 11 at 2:39 pmi think the Tonks what is the cutest one…everything else has now given me nightmares
Melissa commented on Sep 03 11 at 2:53 pmWhile creepy and inaccurate, the Artwork is amazing. They look real. Really, the only one I find creepy, is Voldemort, but he’s supposed to be creepy. Tonks and Hermione are adorable.
krysta commented on Sep 03 11 at 3:54 pmall the above are twisted, why would you even consider selling those abominations????????
Melissa commented on Sep 12 11 at 5:56 pmI am a little bothered by the voldy doll. (for those of u who are not hp geeks like myself Voldy is short for Voldemort). The Doll is a complete misrepresentation of Tom Riddle. Tom Riddle was a very beautiful good looking boy. Watch Chamber of Secrets and Half-Blood Prince. Tom Riddle was concieved under the effects of Amortentia, the most powerful Love Potion. Because of this he is not able to love. Tom Riddle is also the very last heir of Salazar Slytherin. Tom Riddle did not end up with the looks he has in the present of Harry’s life until he killed 7 ppl and split his soul in 7 diff pieces and put them in horcruxes. The only time Lord Voldemort ever looks remotely like the doll is in The Deathly Hallows Part 2 when Harry Sacrifices himself to voldemort and goes to limbo where he sees voldemorts tortured soul. Just Sayin …
Melissa commented on Sep 12 11 at 5:59 pmRemus lupin wasn’t born a werewolf ppl he was bit by one as a child.
Stormy commented on Oct 18 11 at 6:37 pmBeyond the obvious inaccuracies that other Potterphiles before me have mentioned, I have to say the Lupin one is utterly adorable. Who wouldn’t love a baby werewolf?? These gave me a good laugh, really. A little creepy? Sure. But so are 99% of all other realistic baby dolls. Utterly adorkable? I think so.
